well if you did it you would have more winrate but the community imitates what few do this right or wrong, as in Delih they do not garrison the scholars
Why remove them? Why not just tweak them so they are useful sometimes?
Most of the stone upgrades are done in the last game, when the mongols have a lot of stone. Personally, for me, the improvement of wood in the early game is worth it, and in the last game the improvement of food is very good for pastures. Even in the new patch it will be decreased from 250 / 500 / 1000 to 150 / 250 / 500

Although i’ll admit, I dont use them much in teamgames. Imp-Forestry is usually the only thing i go for, and as Chrisinfor10 mentioned.
Upgrade them with excess stone during long haul late games and u got nothing else to use stone on.
But removing them isn’t a solution.
The fact that they are “useless” like they are now is more of a indicator that these things are out of balance, and thus needs to be adressed.
infact, Mongol’s is one of the faction with the most civ-specific issues.
