Poll: Season 9 Patch

我来自中国的帝国时代4论坛–百度贴吧。关于这个版本,这里很多的玩家都有着下面几个公认的事实:1.阿巴斯这个文明太强了,尤其是在4v4里,在发育完成后,就算只出骆驼骑射手也很难反制。往往在游戏的后期,比拼得就是哪边的阿巴斯数量多,哪边就能取得胜利。 2.中国这个文明在中文论坛的讨论是最多的。因为它现在的后期太弱了,在蜂巢炮和种田被削弱之后,几乎失去了反击的权利。只要封建时代没有优势,在城堡和帝王时代就非常难打,后排常用的弩手和火枪全部没有特色加成,前排使用的皇宫卫兵也因为步兵科技被削弱。表现几乎完全不如朱熹。 3.攻城器的改动这里褒贬不一,但是有一些非常滑稽事实,遭到了大家的调侃,包括但不限于:后期大炮打不死农民,用来克制步弓手的高价值投石车和蜂巢炮却反被步弓手克制,弩车几乎隐身等等。 4.在城堡时代之后,骑士就变得难以处理。一个典型的例子就是朱熹,因为大理马科技和侵略如火,几乎完全成为了中国的上位代替。最后,希望制作组能够不仅仅根据宏观的胜率来调整文明,还要考虑到游玩的体验才能更加人性化。

Correct,anti-siege weapon should not be a paradox for this change. Before season 9, each springald play its own character, but now, only see mangonel ,big mangonel, siege hammer ,others are useless,make game boring.

Otherwise, infantrys are so weak that makes infantrys civil hard to play, now everyone use knight and archer to fight, no matter what your civil character is(no include camel),Did this game only have these two army? Archers with unviersity tech can even destroy musketeer, then why there are four stage?Why four age battle are same with two?There is no balance or passion for gamer to explore.

Last ,it is acceptable to see Micro do so big change to improve fight model, but it is too quick and risky, if no delay, even it actually achieve its goal, the lost of gamer will not be back

I’m pretty sure if they buff springald damage we will be soon having another springald meta. Springald is just an awkward unit, a little momentum will push them to the op side imo.

Btw I haven’t seen ppl use ribauldequin for weeks, thats like 2 siege units essentially removed from the game. I also find English white tower rush against defensive civs has no real counter, ppl used to build springalds to defend, nowadays trebs under white tower are god-like.

Mangonels after the hot fix are quite strong in imperial tho, not even bombards can kill them efficiently before your backline melts.

The Devs just announced that they listened to a lot of player requests, and that a balance patch will be made at some point, especially for broken cavalry, some balance for Abbasids, some more love for Springald, and even giving some extra to cannons against elephants (A new counter to elephants? Great!).

Nothing was mentioned about antisiege, so I guess it will stay the same. In my case, I like the new function of Springald. Or maybe, they gonna do many thing, if i could hypothesize:

  • 1).- Springald gonna have a little bonus aggainst siege. Not so powerful to obliterate siege like before, (were they killed mangos in 2 shots), but not so bad as now, (that need 44 shots). Maybe 6 shoots, or 9 shots?

  • 2).- Springald gonna have a Extra attack mode, wich shoot rocks instead of bolts, wich do siege damage (but little, like 6, or 8) and a lot of damage aggainst siege (but not as broken as before, but something would be enough)

That said, I feel that at least in third Age (III), antisiege is not necessary. But in Imperial Age (IV), maybe it is.

  • I would suggest giving aggain the culverin an anti-siege role, and giving a smaller version to civs who don’t want to give it that much power (Demi-culverin, Saker) or making a better version for some civs (Basilisk).

If the developers nerfed the siegecraft in preparation for civilizations without artillery in the new DLC that will be released in 2025. Then it’s obvious that they just need to give the unique units and techs to the civilizations without artillery, so that these civilizations can solve the problem of having no artillery and no means of siege. Instead of destroying everything in the existing siege apparatus except ram and counter weight trebuchet.

As for the new university melee infantry tech? The only thing that fits it is Mali’s age 4 infantry.Chinese Age4 palace guard & handcannoneer combo is pure crap.Age 4 doesn’t exist in China because it has no units that can be used at all.Even England man at arms in age 4 is ridiculous.

China NOB is so useless that no one will produce it.In high-level 1V1 games, these situations will be covered up because there are few scenes to reach Age4. In 4V4 games of comparable levels,China is such a ridiculous civilization because everyone will reach Age4 and its Age4 units are so inflexible and low numerical value,pure trash.

Obviously, just because the Imperial Age is rarely reached in high-level 1V1, one should not turn a blind eye to the poor design of the Imperial Age University’s melee infantry technology.
And in fact, because siege equipment other than ram and counter weight trebuchet is so useless, the number of occasions to reach the Imperial Age has increased significantly, making the problem of infantry even more exposed.
