Genetically, Bulgarians are of a Balkan, Slav and Greek heritage. The Turkic tribes that ruled Bulgaria were not enough in numbers to change the demographics.

I hope that Dawn of the Dukes will bring a decent representation for Eastern Europe to finally be able to safely develop other regions of the world. Then Poles and Vlachs could be deleted from this list.

Me and many other people think they are just going to keep pumping out small DLCs of 2 civs, I mean it’s only 6 months after the Lords of the West and we are getting another DLC
I don’t like minimalism
Fair enough. I will just think of future DLCs that way and you can think the other way. Opinions are valid
lol…Have a look at Chinese,Japanese and Mongols and Turks then speak your mind again dude.
You are so wrong
Another interesting Native American Civ:
Arawaks
The Arawakian Lucatos lived on a cluster of hundreds of small islands in the Caribbean Sea, today known as Bahamas, and the Greater Antilles. They had been expelled from the Lesser Antilles by the Caribs, a fierce tribe. In contrast to them, the Arawaks were a people who preferred negotiation to conflict. Skilled boat-builders, they sailed the open sea in dugout canoes. They lived by hunting fishing agriculture. A central cultural value was the organization of people to produce food collectively and to feed everyone in the community. They were organised under clan elders. Polygamy was common. The Arawaks were animists. As in many other societies, shaman played an important role as healers and intermediataries between this world and that of supernatural.
The Arawaks used gold for ornaments, but did not attach the value to the metals that the Europeans did. They were quite happy to exchange gold for glass beads brought by the Europeans, because these seemed more beautiful. The art of weaving was highly developed - the hammock was one if their specialities, and one which captured the imagination of the Europeans.
The Arawaks were generous and were generous and were happy to collaborate with the Spanish in their search for gold. It was when Spanish policy became brutal that they were forced to resist, but this was to have disastrous consequences for them. Within twenty-five years of contact with the Spanish very little remained of the Arawaks or their way of life.
Arawaks and Caribs can together fit in a DLC for the region.
There are so many regions in the americas we could explore (with unique architecture too!)
IMO these are the ones that i’d like to see
Eastern North America
Iroquois and Mississippians,
Western North America:
Puebloans, and hopefully another civ
Mesoamerica:
Aztecs, Mayans, Tlaxcala
Andes:
Mapuche, Inca
Carribean:
Arawaks, Carib
South America:
Musica and hopefully another one
of course it’s unlikely we will see all of them, and hopefully we’ll get more than 2 for each region, but IMO these are some of the places the devs could focus on
Most of these did not have bronze smelting let alone iron.
What business do they have in a medieval game?
Serbia should be added as civilization definitely. Honestly, I cannot believe it wasn’t added already!
I propose these as possible unique units:
Gusar - fast light cavalry (forerunners to hussars)
Vlastelin (aristocracy) - fast heavy cavalry with lighter armor [read Battle of Ankara]
Buzdovaner - heavy infantry with flanged mace
Hajduk - fast light infantry gunpowder unit (pistol only - short range)
Wonder can be one of many Fortress-Monasteries unique to Serbian architectural style such as Monastery Manasija surounded by high walls (Moravian style), or maybe Sopocani Monastery (Rascian style)
Unique technologies could be something like:
Rebellious - villagers get + armor and attack (because whenever Serbian army was defeated the peasantry would rebel against oppressors)
Faithful - units immune / very resistant to enemy monk conversion (because Serbs rejected every religion imposed on them, save for orthodoxy which was very much reshaped to reflect pagan roots)
Civilization bonuses could be something to do with resistance since Serbia was always surrounded by large empires and still held its ground (albeit sometimes falling and rising)
Maybe something like -
Buildings have +1 armor / or units have +1 armor
Villagers +1 speed
Barracks 15% cheaper
Team bonus could be - churches have +3 armor
I honestly don’t see why kingdom that was surrounded by large multi-ethnic empires which managed not only to survive, but to pose a serious threat to those empires isn’t interesting and relevant?
This topic is for hype, predictions and anything related to the upcoming DLC and its contents.
**Most likely/wanted civilizations
- Poles
- Bohemians
- Serbians
- Croatians
- Wallachians (Vlachs)
- Armenians
- Georgians

Please discuss the possible bonuses, campaigns and units of these possible civilization additions.
Please do not discuss non-Eastern European related civilizations/persons, or complain about this DLC or developer prioty. Thank you
If we are going to get new civs, I think it gonna be 2 new civs like in LotW. Bohemians and Poles is my pick. I believe Bohemians would make nice addition because in Hussite campaign devs can mention Joan d’Ark.
I think it would be cool if Bohemians and Poles had access to Mounted Crossbowman and Mounted Heavy Crossbowman in Archery Range like Steppe Lancers for Steppe civs in Stable.
Lithuanian campaign in that DLC is pretty much must-have.
Then why are armenians and georgians in the list?
Really? Never knew this, where may I read it
Because I said they were
I’m hoping there are atleast 3 new civs for Dawn of the Dukes such as Poles, Bohemians and Croatians. After all there’s already a custom campaign about Croatia.
Meh, I would prefer Venice instead of Croatia. It’s also more in theme with the dukes.
The mounted crossbowman line should replace the cavalry archers of Western, Central and Southern (Spanish, Italian) European civilisations.
Hussites did not only defend themself in Bohemia. They organized many raids on various catholic states like Hungary, Holy Roman Empire or Teutonic Knights lands in Prussia. Joan d’Ark herself wrote letter to Hussites to stop their raids and their heretic movement. I’m pretty sure Spirit of the Law talked about it in one of his videos “AoE II campaign vs History:Joan d’Ark”. But recently I boughy book about Hussite Wars and I can truly confirm that.
Probably You can read about it on wiki about Hussite Wars. But if You are intrested in book “Hussite Wars 1419-1436” Osprey publishing.
