As I’ve stated before I’ve been waiting for a while for this expansion. They have consistently delivered better expansions than I had hoped. I was skeptical of the Japanese at first due to surface level similarities to the Chinese, but they play and feel very different. I am genuinely impressed with the quality of the new civs. The devs have earned my trust. For me the price is worth it and it’s releasing sooner than I had expected. I am really looking forward to the playing the Aztecs and seeing all the cool mechanics the devs are cooking up!

I didn’t spend like 3k€ on a computer to then not buy a game because it costs 30€. I don’t care about 99.9% of games that come out nowadays so why shouldn’t I spend 1% of what my PC costed on the 0.1% of games that I actually like?
Of course the math looks different for everyone, this is just how it’s like for me.

I already bought the season pass.
Until now the developers have made a very good job on Age of Mythology Retold. Very good rework of the four original pantheons, good rework of the Chinese. The japanese pantheon was the first test and they did it very well because they look very different that the Chinese.
I hoped for the Aztec for the 6th pantheon but this was the japanese.
Crucible mode and fourth god by pantheon is good for the old civilizations.
The only thing I dislike is the length of the chinese campaign, 9 scenarios is too short, 12 scenarios is fair.
Another good thing is the release date, I hoped for the end of 2026 but the release will be in mid 2026, very good !
Now I wait to play the Aztec, I can’t wait to make sacrifices and feed the gods with very very much blood !

I will cause Im not sure if I would really care to half of what it delivers. So, all depends if Demeter will be sell apart or not and how much she and Aztecs together will cost

I pre-ordered day one because I love this game and I want it to succeed long-term, but also because I feel that the developers so far have done a great job.

I’ll wait for at least Demeter to come out to see how’s it gonna be and how they’ll address the game’s numerous bugs before and after it comes out.
