Hello. I was just wondering how the general community would tier each of the civs, in terms of S, A, B, C, or D tier. I’m just going to go through all the civs, so this could take a while, just answer the ones you want to. Just for simplicity, only vote on how good you think something is for Arabia, not in general or on its best map.

Seems like most people have quite common sense about the civ rankings.
Only 10 of my votes are the second most votet, all others are the most votet rating.

And looking at the results I think most people will have comparable commodity.

There are only a few “disputable” civs:

Berbers
Bulgarians
Cumans
Ethioians
Koreans
Mongols
Teutons
Vikings (!)

Some civs are seen “in between” of 2 rating classes, that’s not “disputable” in my eyes.

But I am really confused so many people see vikings as a b-tier civ. Didn’t expected that.

Yeah I think many people there are influeced by pro statements. But I actually don’t agree with them. I think even at pro level Goths are way better than their reputation. Maybe it’s not the best arabia civ, but I also don’t think it’s the worst.
Goth are extremely dangerous and you shouldn’t underestimate them. And the recent buffs to infantry have only made them stronger.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think goths are a great arabia civ, but it’s kind of weird we call a civ d-tier that has about a 50 % winrate at 1200+ and I think even above 50 % below that at that map…

No Idea if devs intended this, but I agree. I think the last change to manipur cavalry was indeed a nerf. But that doesn’t matter cause teh civ is just so bad this nerf probably doesn’t even changes a thing.

Actually it’s the other way around, militia line and infantry UU are the counters you need against goths military in the late game and buffing them means it’s easier to face them.

But I agree that goths are not a terrible civ for arabia, they can beat any civ if they can fully boom and they have some early game potential aswell, plus they’re really scary in some matchups.

Yes, but there exists Civs that are also incredibly dangerous when they fully boom and unlike Goths have potent capabilities earlier in the game (like Teutons), it also does not help that Goths have nothing going for them late-game outside of Infantry flood, and they tend to struggle against Civs that possess a strong counter to it (Cataphracts, Civ boosted Militia Line, etc)

I wonder how people would rank goths if they got the last cavalry armor.

That’s actually true, but also deceiving.
Goths can totally go for scouts and knights in the midgame. And they don’t need them in the lategame cause once they have their castles up their infantry spam is just working fine for them, so who cares about the last cavalry armor upgrade?

So in conclusion, yes they wouldn’t be ranked higher even with the last armor upgrade, but people would probably be quite surprised that goths can make a decent knight rush that would also most likely surprise a lot of the opponents.

I personally think that that would be a good place for them. It’s the eco that gives them the higher position, but for me personally, any infantry civ should be A tier max, and normally between D and B tier. I just really don’t like infantry. Might be because they just lost thumb ring? Maybe people reckon they are worse now.
