I vote first for south America, second for Mesoamerica and third for north America.

South America

South America because we have quasi nothing here, just the Incas with an inaccurate architectural set, two unique units, two skins for the wonder and the castle and the llama. The Inca campaign don’t look andean, all the assets are inaccurate : nature, tree, building, decorations.
Also we have writhed record for this region at the end of the timeline of the game.

For the campaign I think we need a reworked Pachacuti campaign with new assets (specially an andean architectural set; seeing plumed archer is good but seeing jaguar warrior and eagle warrior is bad), a mapuche campaign fighting the Incas and the Spanish, an andean civilization campaign (maybe Tiahuanaco vs Huari featured by the Chimu civilization or another andean civilization) and a third campaign with the spanish fighting the inca and the civil war between spanish after the inca conquest (I don’t want a reworked El Dorado campaign but a new one featuring spanish fighting andean civilizations).

We need a reworking of the Incas to remove the eagle warriors and to add regional units, maybe the slinger can become a regional unit.

I listed here the assets we need :

Mesoamerica

At least since The Conquerors we have two civilizations, various assets (decorations, architectural set, wild animal, turkey, accurate tree), one campaign and one scenario.

But there is many to add, first we have writhed records both by the native and by the spanish. Purepecha were a big contender of the Aztec empire, other factions were here : Mixtec, Tlaxcaltec, Zapotec, Toltec, Chichimec, Paztec (watermelon).

This region don’t need too many new asset because of The Conquerors. Maybe just a cactus tree for the regions of the north of Mesoamerica, this type of tree can also be used in an andean DLC.

I think than the Montezuma campaign don’t need change at all.
Many players want a maya campaign, why not. Another two campaigns featuring new civilizations. I don’t want to have a spanish campaign in this region because we have already them and is more interesting to have a spanish campaign in the Andes.

North America

My third option for an american DLC. With Mississippians, Iroquois. For the campaign we need some for the new civilizations.

Someone proposed a Deganawida campaign and the foundation of the Haudenosaunee confederation based on the song of Hiawatha

Someone made a concept of mississipian civilization and campaign for them and the spanish

Maybe a spanish featuring Hernando de Soto fighting the mississipians (there is proposal on the forum). Maybe another one, a Viking campaign with a fictional scenario with viking journey in North America : an Eldorado of the north campaign with Viking instead of Spanish.

For north american DLC we need ton of new assets, a mississipian architectural set, new animals (specially bison, cougar, bald eagle, moose, beaver in replacement of wild chicken), regionals units.

Carribean

Not many here, just native quickly overruned by the Spanish and the diseases. Maybe just an Hatuey campaign. Also making an architectural set just for this region will take a big time.

Center/West north América

Not many here in the timeline of AoE2, just the journey of Coronado in the XVI th century. At least we can make a campaign featuring the Anasazi with a pueblo architectural set. For the Sioux in Middle age they were not a equestrian people but were farmer who were part of the mississipian civilization. the first raid of the Apaches against the spanish were in the XVII century, too late for the game.

Maybe just the Anasazi, the Chichimec with pueblo architectural set and a campaign featuring the spanish with Coronado.

I kinda want Arawak, Caribs, Tlaxcalan, Chichimec

I’m making a meso-ociv/ultramarine expansion (Aztecs and Incas plus Portuguese), but it’s for AoE 3…

I would see a campaign of Lautaro narrated by an old Pelantaro to his soldiers, but starting in 1485 as a prologue to the Battle of the Maule River, then a campaign of Lautaro between 1553 and 1557 and ending with the attack on the seven cities in Chile in 1598:

  1. Battle of the Maule River (1485): Mapuches vs. Incas led by Tupac Yupanqui, son of Pachacuti

  2. Fourteen of Fame and Battle of Tucapel (1553-1554): Mapuches led by Lautaro and 13 of his men vs. Spaniards led by Governor Pedro de Valdivia, who was killed by Lautaro

  3. Battle of Marihueñu and destruction of Concepción (1554-1555): Mapuches vs. Spaniards

  4. Battle of Peteroa (1556): Mapuches vs. Spaniards

  5. Battle of Mataquito (1557): Mapuches vs. Spaniards, who kill Latuaro

  6. Battle of Curalaba or The Destruction of the Seven Cities (1598): Mapuches led by an elderly Pelantaro conquered the 7 Spanish cities and assassinated Governor Martin de Loyola (in this battle, the Mapuches would have the Stable, only in Imperial)…

Pacal the Great (615-683) would be good to have Dos Pilas in the middle and finally touch the 7th century in the game (then obviously the Arab conquests would be missing but for a Middle Eastern DLC dividing the Saracens)…

Yeah, something like Bayinnaung (1534-1580) touching on the first encounters with the French of Jacques Cartier in 1535, 1541 and 1543, but mainly facing Tadodaho, the cruel Onondaga tyrant who ruled the region with an iron fist and our 3 heroes (Deganawida, Hiawatha and Jigonhsasee) facing him…the narrator would obviously be Hiawatha, since he is based on the “Song of Hiawatha”, just as Cuauhtemoc is on that of Montezuma…

You already have Vinlandsaga and Karselfni for that…it would be the same again (leave Iceland, conquer Greenland and settle in Canada)…

Yes, and it gets very complicated with the timeline and you end up needing to include many campaigns in the 16th century (which is no longer medieval but the Renaissance)…

Arawak/Taino/Carib would be Agüeybaná II, who led a rebellion against the Spanish between 1511 and 1518 (he could narrate how the Tainos met Columbus on his voyages of 1492 and 1493, then the arrival of Juan Ponce de Leon in 1508, whose cruelty triggered the Taino rebellion in 1511), the Tlaxcalans would be Xicotencatl I (it would be Moctezuma’s campaign but from the Tlaxcalan perspective) and the Chichimeca would be Tenamaxtle during the Mixton War against the Spanish 20 years after the fall of Tenochtitlan (1540-1542)…

I don’t want scenario a crossing of the Atlantic to build some house house in North America too. I think about an Eldorado like campaign. A campaign were a group of Viking follow the curse of the St Laurent and then down to the Mississippi and then when they arrive at the mouth of the river they go north to Greenland, in the way they fight local civilization (Iroquois and Mississippians). I know unlike the Eldorado campaign (Spanish going down the Amazon river and fighting Inca) who was based on the Orellana expedition this campaign will be totally fictional.

PS : I want a mapuche campaign too with all the heros : Lautaro, Caupolican and is trunk, Colo Colo, Janequeo, Galvarino with is maimed hands fighting with knifes,

Yes, it could be… although I feel it’s a bit fanciful, like for AoM…

South America but not necessarily the civs you suggested

All the dlc civis added civis that can replace current civis in campaigns so which ever meso civi gets added it has already been in a campaign.

The Purepecha civ with Tariácuri’s campaign and the Mixtec civs with Iya Nacuaa Teyusi Ñaña’s campaign.

Yes, at least to vary the civics more and not have it all Aztec, Mayan, and in the case of the Incas, just Incas…

Tangaxuan II is also good…at least to fight with and against the Spanish…

Eight Deer is more pronounceable…

As a Colombian, I want Muiscas. The devs already added three short lived factions outside the regulaor aoe2 timeframe, there is no excuse not to include them or other pre-columbian civilizations now.
