Port is just a General civ that stays on its toes with versatile units though you cant alter their playstyle with cards as much as Germans/France and Sweden.
Though what would you add on a civ that has the best general purpose survival kit? New upgrades? New Unit cards?
Personally i would go for a slightly above average melee unit whether its cav or infantry.
As well as make Akan infinite for them.
Its hard to figure out ideas for them because they are just so complete.
