I see on various statistics sites that Poseidon is used a lot. I wanted to understand if these statistics refer only to 1v1 matches, or in general. Furthermore, what is Poseidon’s strength that makes him so used? Making armies of Hitairos and Centaurus?
Late game things like Heitairos rarely influence win rates, it’s mostly the early game that decides who wins a match.
Lure allows Poseidon to get food more reliable in the early games. Then cheaper Stables and faster Hippeus makes early game raiding easier.
Ah okay, so anyway let’s say that in the first 3 eras it is better to do horses and raids, then in the 4th classic infantry troops and chimera or colossus right?
And opressive Centaurs.
the statistics may depend on which filters where used.
In the following image, you can check filters like:
- Elo between 1300 and 2k.
- Ranked 1v1 Supremacy
- Since last patch update.
Things are still changing fast. Poseidon was considered “weak” on the release because everyone was abusing Minotaurs with Zeus and Hades. Set and Odin were broken, etc.
Now, Loki has the best winrate and looks like that his bonuses (free conversion of villagers into berserkers + MU free spawn while fighting + vision and spy) are OP.
Poseidon was top 1, but people are already learning how to beat centaur + hips spam.
PS: I’ve been playing random greek since beta and do think centaurs need to be a bit more expensive.
Poseidon is strong because he allows you to have some advantage early and have a strong eco on lategame, but Hades has better bonuses for mid / lategame since it is basically about archers and siege spam.
A thousand thanks. Two questions. Name of the site where you can see the statistics, and then why do you say siege spam? which units?
There are a few different sites you can use that present stats in slightly different ways.
This last one doesn’t have cumulative stats yet, but it looks like it’s going to in the future. For now it’s just individual stats:
