Profanity filter which filters out innocuous words but allows abusive players like this guy to say whatever he wants. Also reported him and nothing happened, he’s still playing.

That’s rough, toxic players like that always seem to make me regret playing them win or lose.
It’s also not censoring actual swear words. I’ve seen some pretty bad words fly by while trying to say ‘p3 p4 split’ gets censored. It’s literally flawed and does nothing to censor the people in the pictures anyway.
I hope the in-game report system actually works and isn’t like how Blizzard has implemented their report systems, where it’s all bot-controlled and you need several players to report someone simultaneously to have a mute effect.
I really really do hope reports in AoE2 are handled by humans.

I hate having to walk on eggshells due to not knowing what is the something that I could say that will get censored.
It wastes time on the keyboard while you could be focusing on the game, it happened to me regardless I was talking in Spanish or in English, and it also happens in other languages too. It’s also a problem when there’s a word necessary to use in your native language but that it happens to be a curse word or close to a curse word in English. The forums have a strict rule of using English, are we supposed to be obligated to type in English and adhere to American English etiquette when in-game and with friends too?
I lost interest in multiplayer a long time ago. But if I came back to it I’d absolutely hate it (will it censor the word “hate” too?) if this thing cannot be turned off or if it isn’t completely gone.

Obviously, it’s an american game made probably for other americans, we must adhere to their rules. Unless they remove this pathetic censor system there’s no way around.
I’ve had words in my language censored for the same reason too: too similar to some american curse words probably, or just bug, at this time I don’t know any more.
