this is correct, the site even tells you its data is from matches on patch 50292 analyzed! right at the top of the website. ergo the information the OP is using is outdated.
your link is to a non existent postâŠ
maybe remove it?
no, theyâre still too slow
yeah
this^^
exactly
yeah i mean they were quite heavily nerfed, its a far worse nerf than if they had simply capped relics to +2, since it really hurts their infantry
i actually think its ok, 10% of the upgrade is minimal, so its not adding much by itself, i know its multiplicative but still, i doubt it will make them burgundian level, since burg save so much on the all important food, as well as getting them X seconds soonerâŠ
i dont think its a bad idea, it means you have more control on when to age up, you could get the same age up times as everyone else, except have more vils at that age, its basically less tc idle time, or you can age sooner, with fewer res for a tighter build
the game should be balanced around optimal fairness of the civs, not peopleâs skill levels.
Thw original post from reddit has been erased. It seems that the author has been convinced about how bad his suggestions were
Theres a mod which makes their villagers speak with the age of mythology voice lines. PROSTAGMA
The OP has made the thread to discuss, not to be considered ânecessaryâ. Therefore, the OP has concluded that this is the proper place to have a discussion. Anyway, 1 person should not be the only one to have something to say about balance changes. Additionally, the OP still thinks that viets, byzantines, portuguese and franks should be very very slightly changed. Other âchangesâ had been very reasonably disputed, which the OP is actually happy for.
Youâre pushing it way too far in here.
Disputing balance changes based on reason (huns, malay, byzantines, berbers etc ) = absolutely fine, and actually good!
But saying that stats are âobsoleteâ despite the most of the balance changes were aimed at civs that were not even touched (except for burmese and lithuanians, even though burmese and lith nerfs were only late game, though the lithuanian discussion is fair to be called âtoo earlyâ), is plain wrong - whether you like it or not. On puropose, Cumans, Bohemians, Poles, Burgundians, Sicilians etc have been âomittedâ from adjusting due to lack of current balance info, but some civs can still take a small look into - e.g. the viets (imp UT⊠maybe even economy), franks (albeit in a minor way, even just slowing the berry bonus could be fine) and byzantines (slightly cheaper trash)âŠ
About the onager - no. Check out Heraâs video from 2 days ago (just one example! - time 3:49:30, or 5:56:40)âŠrewarded micro vs onagers? absolutely! ability to outmicro 1 or two2? yes! but onager not even effectively countering mass of stacked archers (which it is supposed to do!) = noâŠjust 15% faster projectiles (for start) could somehow fix that, because - once again - itâs a STRATEGY game, not MICRO game. Sure, micro should - and must - give you some sort of advantageâŠbut not that much.
Nerfing micro isnât bad at all, most games usually change the meta when something has became too powerful.
Aoe 2 needs quickwalling being severely nerfed to a point of making it pointless and a waste of resources, but the viewers and casters are not going to like the change cause they increase the hype when someone traps 30 cavaliers with a freaking siege workshop and 2 gates, that mechanic is now over abused and its not even strategical, you are going blind when going to raid, there is no way to prevent being quickwalled other than not attacking at all and just camping or just use ranged units as main units.
About players dodging ballistics and mangonels shoots, well the mangonel projectile is so slow and easy to predict, there isnât too much skills behind it, just click faster and move to the sides or use the split formation and re group, but i donât consider that mechanic so broken yet, cause if you add more siege units or mix them with scorps then microing is suicidal, the only thing that should be fixed is the last managonel shoot after dying making full splash damage ignoring hills.
I think quick walls are currently OP, but I dont think micros are necessarily evil.
A fully stratgic game can be boring to those who are not familiar with game. That is why imo, games like SC2 (extremely micro intensive), CSGO(action oriented) are more popular than games like chess (esp those Go games where each move takes hours, is strategic but not attractive). I think people are looking for actions in games, not just the strategic part.
Enjoy every game being gg after first raid is in.
fair points. I donât think micro should be nerfed that much, because microing scouts if they get in is indeed crazy for the defending playerâŠHowever, quickwalls should be still used with caution. For example, a change that would say âwalls, gates and houses no longer return the remainder of their cost after they are deleted while under construction (except for unbuilt foundations))â should be fine.
I also stand by the +10% or +15% mangonel projectile speed:)
this is actually quite a good oneâŠ
it certainly helps against the xbow dominance at the highest level, but might push the cav dominance at mid elos even more, not necessarily a bad thing, just a considerationâŠ
I think for the quickwall, many players suggested to nerd the armor of foundations (to something like -3/0 for example) and i think it can be a really good solution.
At this point we might as well just delete every map and play only socotra 11
Ok. I apologize for my previous comment.
I have been saying for one year that Vietnamese may need a minor buff, because they have been âbottom 6â tier consistently across all elos for a while. Usually people notice the worst 5 civs, but vietnamese were the next worst one.
A lot of these worst civs have been buffed: cumans, burmese, sicilians, Portuguese (gunpowder buff). Now we have to wait if they leave the bottom-5 state and thus if vietnamese became one of the worst five civs in game.
However, vietnamese winrates were consistently above 45% winrate in all last patches except in high elos. So they need a high elo buff. Notice that their eco-bonus make them easy-to-play for noobs even when they arent a cav civ.
I think vietnamese winrates will drop a bit after the new arabia. The reasoning behind this is that new arabia is more predictable and easy to scout, so their scouting bonus will became less impactful there, and thus their earlygame will drop a bit.
A little buff to their eco-bonus would help but they then would feel like even more similar to mayan or britons. Instead of the proposed eco-buff I would make them âmill/lumbercamps/mining caps techs are researched X% fasterâ so it is easier to calculate the impact of the buff in the short and long term. Still, I would buff them in a different way. Despite the wood discount and archers HP, vietnamese can be very flexible in the early game, so I would buff the flexibility outside archers, but I havenât thought the ideal way for this. In late game, their cavalry falls behind (no blast furnace, no hussar), their champions lack blast furnace too, and elephants are lackluster in the moment. My heart wants an elephant buff but this wouldnât solve anything in 1v1âŠ
(Agree with buffing paper money, though this would be a lategame buff).
I meant faster as in even faster vils, 10% doesnât change much for their economy. You can run away from a maa better and thatâs about it.
I think because people realized that you can do bizarre villager rushes and lame in dark age with the berber bonus.
Well I donât know what the solution is, at this point probably bohemians should have the fastest vils because thatâs how civ bonuses work (something that must be teched into should be stronger than something you get by default), but maybe raising the 24/min cap for berbers (and bohemians) for farming would be fair. I still havenât figured out why the cap even exists honestly, just makes the game more boring with gathering bonuses, but whatever.
think youâre forgetting that micro is sacrificing macro for most players.
Thatâs why Daut is still such a beast.
