Mouse and keyboard support absolutely matters!

I am Glad to hear that it’s a known issue and I hope it will be fixed soon.

Hi Ashley, I found a workaround. In-game (main menu) I removed my mouse usb receiver. I noticed the keyboard then works, although you’ll get a notification asking you to reconnect the mouse. Initially the game doesn’t seem to realise you’ve reconnected the mouse (clicks don’t register) Im not sure what I did at this point but I reconnect the mouse usb receiver, then eventually it worked. It seems the issue is the game treats a keyboard attached through Bluetooth, and a mouse attached with a usb receiver, as 2 separate controllers and doesn’t like it. Seems like it might not be an issue if you have a mouse and keyboard connected through the same USB receiver? (Mines are separate, Bluetooth keyboard, wireless usb mouse)

I’ve not checked if you have to go through all of this again if you restart your console, but closing the game fully and restarting it doesnt seem to make the issue reappear. Which is great.

Edit: I can confirm the issue reappears if you restart your console. Here’s the exact steps I took to get it working again:

Start game, mouse, keyboard, controller connected, input starts as controller. Switch to mouse and keyboard in control settings. Unplug mouse, turn off keyboard, turn off controller, turn on keyboard, plug in mouse. Keyboard and mouse works. If curser doesn’t show, turn on controller, close game with controller, turn off controller, start game with keyboard and mouse.

This also highlights the invisible curser issue. If you start the game with your settings as controller, and switch to mouse and keyboard in the game settings, you get the invisible curser issue. The fix to this is to set it to mouse and keyboard (invisible curser issue), close game with controller, disconnect controller, start game with your mouse and keyboard, curser now shows and game starts with mouse and keyboard.

Another update. It’s actually simpler than I thought. The game doesn’t like you starting with mouse, keyboard, and controller connected if you’re playing with mouse and keyboard.

Easier fix: start the game with your mouse, keyboard, controller connected. Change settings to mouse and keyboard in the in-game settings menu. With the invisible mouse issue you need to click the “save” button. Close the game with your controller. Turn off the controller and restart the game with just your mouse and keyboard connected. It’ll work now and you won’t have an invisible mouse pointer.

Seems a simple fix would be to not have the game throw a fit if you start with mouse, keyboard, and controller connected. And ask users to restart the game when switching control schemes. Or even better, have the game default to mouse and keyboard if you start it with both connected.

Perfect, it worked for me but the mouse buttons are still reversed ( right click to select unit) , it’s difficult to get used to since I am used to the PC version control

Yeh that’s an odd one that I’ve not experienced, so unfortunately can’t assist.
