[PS5] Unable to Link PSN Account to Microsoft Account

Hi,
I’m experiencing a persistent issue on PS5 where I can no longer link my PSN account to my Microsoft account in Age of Empires IV.

When I try to link my account from the in‑game prompt, I get the following error on the PS5 screen:

“The account link code has expired. Please try again.”

However, on the Microsoft linking page, it says the connection was successful.
So the two systems seem to be completely out of sync.

Because of this bug, I have been unable to play online multiplayer for several weeks already.

Additional context:
The issue started immediately after my PlayStation Plus subscription renewed. Before that, everything worked fine.

I’ve tried:

  • Reinstalling the game

  • Re‑logging into both accounts

  • Checking Microsoft account connections

Nothing has fixed the issue so far.

Support told me they forwarded the problem to the team, but there is no ETA and they won’t notify me when a fix is deployed.
If anyone else on PS5 is experiencing the same issue, please comment so the dev team can see how many players are affected.
