Why?
Now Rathas don’t have the anti-skirmisher bonus when in melee mode, why would be exploited?

how do I check the PUP

People will switch Ratha into melee right after skirms throw their volley of javelins. And then go to ranged if necessary (for example shooting pikeman) while skirms are reloading their javelin.

Wait, where did the steam beta thingy go? I can no longer select the PUP in the Beta dropdown menu.

after looking at things that seems to be my problem can’t see the PUP in the Beta drop down menu thus I can’t update

PUP has been taken down.

They still receive the bonus damage from skirmisher in melee or range mode, it doesn’t matter
They don’t deal extra damage against skirmishers in any mode

A great set of balance changes except for a few like nerfing Bengalis ( why on earth would you do that?), Malay and making insignificant changes to elephant units. I also like how they took some suggestions from some of the balance suggestion threads like Chinese nerf, Franks nerf, Vietnamese buff which are quite small and incremental to test the balance instead of making massive changes.

Very welcoming and meta changing adjustments. I’d wish to see Turks being given something in return for open maps in a future patch.

They probably assumed the LOS increase for Battle elephants is a huge buff to Bengalis and decided to balance it out right away by nerfing other options :smile: On a more serious note, I hope the Bengali bonus accidentally gave the bonus to ranged rathas currently and they are just fixing it in this pup.

I was hoping for Return of Rome that archers, especially chariot archers, would be toned down a bit. That seems to be the balance change that was most requested. Maybe for the next patch.

I didnt see this complain on the forum, but I agree with it.

It looks like nice buffs for a civ with such a bad stable.

The discount on trash may be worse than Byzantines (food is more important + gatherer more slowly) however they make up for it with discount on gold units.

Now Koreans start to get very decent esrly game boni:

  • 100f from free archer upgrade
  • around 300w if you open archers (12.5w discount per archer).

Obviously they arent as good as directly getting resources on age up, however it is not neglifible.

I wonder whether koreans skirms+pikes into CA may become an offmeta viable strategy. 20w/60g CA look nice compared to 36w/54g from Huns. Koerans lack BL however it should be fine because they get TR and Husbandry, which shoukd be the 2 most important techs (in castle age)

But what about the transport ship bugs ? Are they will be patched too ?

nah chinese and persians should never get a split. they are the backbone civs all the way from AOK and should be left as single civs. Add new civ in those region is AOKAY, minor changes also AOKAY

I think theoretically it could be a tiny hint of Persian campaign with Georgians and Armenians, but who knows?
At best it might be Persians receiving Steppe Lancers and Central Asian bset.

Gunpowder UU has been nerf one by one in castle age while the they still fall off in inperial age. At least they should buff for the elite version.

Changes for Central European Architecture Set

  1. I hope for Central European Architecture Set for Bohemians civ.
  2. Goths and Vikings need their own “Northern European” Architecture Set.
  3. Huns (Mongols and Cumans also) need their own “Nomadic” Architecture Set.
