[PUP] Thoughts on xianbei raiders

In castle age, Wei are like Bengalis with kipchaks at the archery range. You get a villager lead, a 25 gold cav archer that is produced 42% faster than a cav archer (37s/26s), and you can be reasonably annoying until the opponent gets good static defenses or ballistics scorpions. I think that is fine. I have played a dozen PUP games and I’m confident in the future ability of light cav to deal with them, although the creation time could be increased a tad.

The problem is in imperial age. If you have managed to preserve your mass of xianbei raiders in castle age, you can reach a beautiful composition of 8/6 armor xianbei raiders obliterating halbs with parthian tactics and their innate anti-halb charged attack + solid hussars. As a big enjoyer of heavy scorpions, I’m grateful Wei lack Siege Engineers and traction trebuchets don’t one-shot heavy scorpions, but still. Xianbeis/light cav is a really robust comp in imp, even more robust than kipchaks/hussars, so I think either losing bracer or tuning down xianbei raiders specifically would not hurt. At least a small increase in gold cost.

Get rid of Ming Guang Armor affecting Xianbei Riders (make it exclusive to melee Cavalry), 85 res (and just 25g) CA with a nice 26 training time having that amount of melee armor is just stupid, the fact Hussars barely work vs Xianbei Riders (3 damage per attack) already tells you a lot.
