I like the game and I’ve had lots of fun with it, and I do plan to pour more time into it.
That said yes, there’s a lot of stuff they could and should look into adding. Patrol stance among others, hot keys:D pretty much the same stuff mentioned by many of you already so I’ll keep it short and not make an essay or repeating the same stuff, I’m just here to add another person that wants QoL improvements to what can potentially be a great game later on if the devs put in the work.
I don’t even know if devs are reading this forum, but one more idea comes to my mind.
When you have bulding with garrisoned units inside (mosque with scholars fe.) on command panel we see some strange group with buldings and units.
In AoE2 when I clicked bulding with units inside it was not a group of unit/buldings. It was just a building and icons of unis inisde it). In Aoe4 is dumb beause bulding + units on UI look the same, whether the units are garrisoned or not.
I saw a stream yesterday, where caster wanted to check what is the bulding name (mosque). He clicked on it, but name didn’t showed up in the same way as in single bulding.
I agree with most everything in the initial list, like making the minimap more readable/less cluttered, unit pathing lines, patrol behaviors, and Control Group improvements to select individual units (and disable putting units in multiple groups), as well as subsequent posts (definitely larger maps, trade cost on the market screen, etc.), and I’d wager a Town Bell action would be appreciated as well - and/or the option to have villagers automatically seek shelter if attacked (a big help when managing multiple points of crisis).
A solid assortment of suggestions that’d help the game.
The option to build farms with all fields preplaced in advance would be nice. If I have 8 villagers and the requisite wood changing it from 9 clicks to 1 would be great. Especially as the placing when down the shift build for fields on the mill can be a bit janky at times.
you forgot treaty mode, that’s a pretty MAJOR must have since its a game mode (like in AOE3). You mentioned very specific art and graphic details which wont obviously be changed in one patch, nor in one year. I think we should go from broader to narrow claims.
They could have a toggle for aggressive or passive workers, so they defend themselves (or run away) when attacked or continue with whatever they were doing.
Fix match making for team ranked. It’s absolutely horrible to climb ladder then get paired with a no ranked teammate that somehow made it into a plat or gold lobby. It’s unreal how hard it is to have a fair game. Hidden MMR has ruined my multiplayer experience in this game as I frequently get paired with Conqueror and diamond ranked players in gold/plat. If you are solo queuing it is absolutely MISERABLE
