Queable Cows after reaching cap for Malians

Hi everyone!

I wanted to bring up a small mechanic in AoE 4 that I’ve noticed while playing: Cows cannot be queued once the cap of 20 cows is reached. This makes gathering food from cows quite micro-intensive, especially after converting most of them into cattle ranches.

If cows could still be queued despite reaching the cap – similar to how the Imperial Official works for China – you could, for example, convert 18 cows into 6 cattle ranches, build two mills next to the Town Center, and continuously gather from two cows.

Right now, however, you have to manually kill cows and produce new ones since they can’t be queued after hitting the cap. This is not only cumbersome but can also be really annoying during hectic moments in the game.

What do you think? Should this be changed, or do you see it differently? I’m curious to hear your thoughts!

Very, very good point.

Qol change for sure but I you get to the point where you’ve eaten more than 2 cows per villager gathering the cows, you would have been better off making a farm.

So eating cows indefinitely is a major competitive opportunity loss. Having said all that, if you had like infinite trade gold and were unable to expended it, then comparatively cow food would net faster food than farm. And there your QoL idea would be huge!
