[query] Graphic Requirements?

Hi! i played age of empires 4 in the open beta, but the system dont leave me change to high graphics. Only some parameters

My graphic card is a GTX 1650 and mi processor is a i5 9400

The recommended is a gtx 970, right? So the gtx 1650 is not enough?

Do I need a GTX 1660 or higher then?

Im sorry for my bad english !

How much ram memory your pc has?
It seems that your gpu is slightly worse than the gtx 970.

That being said, my pc exceds most of the requirements specs and the game still recommends me to play the game on medium, although it does let me change most settings to high(with a warning that it exceeds the recommended settings) appart from textures and I have gtx 1660
You do have to consider that the game is still on beta phase too and may not be fully optimized.
Also if the game lets you run on medium and some settings on high I wouldn’t bother spend money on a new gpu as I barely noticed much difference between most medium and high settings, you will probably only notice the change if you have them set on low.

I have a GPU a little better than recommended and it was very bad in full HD and 720p, low at 25-38 fps, never stable at 60 (The craziest thing that at the beginning I start with 85-100 FPS AVG), hopefully it is a bad optimization of the Beta, because if you can only barely play with the recommended hardware with a bad experience, I do not want to imagine the number of people who will be left out for just meeting the minimums, being a game that should not even jokingly require as much GPU as it is being, hopefully it is optimized for launch and if not, please the developers be honest and change the recommended requirements to something higher than an RTX 2060 so as not to excite people and then be disappointed

It has happened to me exactly like you, what you mention

The game works excellent, but with those details of not being able to set everything to HIGH

I think you are right, the GTX 1650 does not reach the line of the GTX 970. But changing the video card is not worth it for little difference

i have a 16 GB RAM DDR4 2666 mhz

@zlOverPainAL Maybe the recommendation according to my experience, it is good that gtx 970 is recommended

but there are many people who will be left out because a GTX 970 is not little, I don’t know

Thank you for your answers

From what I understand, the high setting is only for 4k monitors.
Is your monitor’s native resolution 4k?

Truly? I didn’t know that haha sorry

My monitor is not 4k, it is F HD (1920 x 1080)

Maybe that’s why the parameters are only set to medium and the system warns you when changing it because it is unnecessary?

Thanks for the information

There was a bug that prevented some people from picking up higher graphics.

You should be able to run it on max settings just fine when the bug is fixed for next beta or release.

ahhh! ok!!

Thank you very much everyone for the responses

I think it’s probably more of a cpu problem.
I am not expert on it, but for example on aoe3 de when u had foliage on max it put a huge toll on cpu because apparently it only ran in a single thread or something like that

The won’t be left out to be fair, minimum requirements are very low. And I have seen the game in low graphics, It looks like a ps1 game so low end pcs should run that game no problem. The question is will ppl want to play with that?

I had a good visual experience with the medium parameters

but i dont kwnow, maybe if it’s fun people still play it

For me it is a very fun game

Oh yep, the difference between most medium settings and the high settings is minimal imo. If you already have a good enough gpu to run them on medium then it’s not worth to upgrade it, specially when you already spending a lot of money to buy the game.

I heard that some people managed to run the game with the lowest settings on their integrated graphics cards during the open beta.
I don’t know if this is true or not, but the game really works surprisingly well for the beta version (While every new game is rife with lack of optimization)

I’m playing on:
i7 3770k @4.4Ghz
16gb ddr3 ram @1600mhz
Nvidia Titan X maxwell (GTX980 x1.5 equivalent)
1440p 16:9 res
I manage to get 85fps on all settings maxed out

I think your issue as others have said is the bug that stopped some from changing the settings and not your hardware
