i dont really understand why the house of phanar can spawn on the map muscovy. the only reason i could think of is the connection between early russian aristocracy and byzantine noble houses … “third rome” etc etc.
is that the correct explanation or is there something i’m missing? like an actual phanar/greek/wallachian ruler or smth.
There’s a whole section about Russian influences in the Phanariot article. There’s also the Callivazis Phanariotes who seem to have moved to Russia. There’s more links to Russia in the article, so I guess there’s quite a few things that link them?
