Quick save - multiple bugs/problems

  • Game Version: v.100.17.22308.0

  • Build Number: 481060R

  • Platform: Steam

  • Operating System: Windows 11

Issue 1: Quick load is broken

We can make quick save via F8, however F9 doesn’t work to quick load the latest saved game and attempting to quick load via F9 always without any exception just causes in-game error window “Saved Game: QuickSavegame failed to load”.

Trigger Event 1:

It happens always.

Repro Steps 1:

  1. Quick save game via F8
  2. Quick load saved game via F9

Issue 2: Saves not sorted by date/time

The names of the saved games are not sorted by date in the normal (non-quick) load game window and find the latest save I need, is hell. We also are not able to sort the by date by clicking the date/time column in the load games list window. Why can’t I easily find my save by looking up by name by eye? Check Issue 3 and 4.

Issue 3: 2 savegame file naming conventions

There are 2 naming conventions for the same savegame type (campaign for example). The names of the saved games use 2 formats and saves even from single campaign missions are then on 2 places/groups in the load game window list.

One format is
QuicksaveCampaignSinglePlayer31_8_2024 14_5_31.mythsav
and another format (despite saved during the same campaign mission) is
QuicksaveSinglePlayer31_8_2024 14_11_35.mythsav

Thanks to this I never know for sure where to look for my latest quick save as mentioned in Issue2.

Issue 4: Time string saved in wrong format in the savegame files

The quicksave names are saving the time in wrong format. For example when there is “10:05” time on the clock, in the savegame file name it saves the time as “10:5” instead - it skips the zero in the minutes. This is another reason why I can’t locate my saved games in the savegame window quickly. Example:
QuicksaveCampaignSinglePlayer1_9_2024 10_0_8.mythsav
This was saved at 10h00m08s but as you can see, it skipped the zeros where it thought they were not necessary. This also causes the files to be sorted wrong yet more. If the time is 10:18:22, it for example saves all of it correctly.

Issue 5: Number of quick save files is unlimited and no way to set the count

Please, allow us in the game options to set the max number of quick save file slots. I have already around 2 GB of about 450 quicksaves and would be nice to not need us to delete the old ones manually and have for example max 20 quicksave slots (or whatever amount we would set in the game options).

Update for Issue #3:

Trigger Event 3:

Loading a previous save file and quicksaving again afterwards, triggers this behavior.

Repro Steps 3:

  1. Launch any campaign mission from the start.
  2. Quick save via F8, whatever many times.
  3. Load one of the saves via menu → load.
  4. Use quicksave again and the naming convention of this and following saves will be different.

It seems that when we launch a campaign mission from the start and making quick saves, the naming convention for all those saves is
QuicksaveCampaignSinglePlayer1_9_2024 10_0_8.mythsav

But once we load one of those saves and then make new quick saves, the naming convention changes to
QuicksaveSinglePlayer31_8_2024 14_11_35.mythsav

Result - the saving/loading logic didn’t think that the loaded save was a campaign anymore and didn’t include string “campaign” in the save filename anymore.
