as you can see the actual campaign files are missing, along with some other stuff.
What I could do is attach those files and give them to you and you can download them and place them in your own folder, if you would like.
iāve played the campaigns before so no rush, i just saw the ! in my modlist and thought iād give you a heads up so thats it may be fixed before i decide to replay them
OK, well thanks a lot for that. Iāve asked for help on the forum, but iāll have to see how successful that turns out.
also, I saw you ran into trouble with the Alexander campaign, something with a bugged ally I believe. It would help a lot if you could describe the issue in a bit more detail and tell me what mission/s it occurred in so I may work on a fix for it.
oh is that yours too? i dont quite remember everything but allied ai was really really passive and only made a few spears in one of the missions, iāll check out all the missions and see if i can remember some more info, i download 100s of custom campaigns so it all kinda blends togheter in my mind
Ah ok. well I should say unless it was the 5th mission (the scenario of the big battle of Gaugamela), Your allies donāt really do too much anyhow, and mostly exist to tribute the player some resources or so the player can trade with them. If however it is the 5th mission, then that is problematic, as your ally is supposed to be quite strong.
i think the hints said something about the ally actually doing some units so thats why i got confused, im checking the scenarios out right now, i went back and re-read what i wrote and i think that the ally actually did have units but they didnt send them at the enemy, just back and forth in their base, i dont remember exactly what scenario but i wrote it before finishing the campaign so it must have been in one of the first 5 scenarios, ive noticed in a lot of custom campaigns that allied units get stuck on small things or at a cliffside or so tho so might not be specific to your
looking closer at the scenarios i seem to remember scenario 2 being the biggest problem, both blue, orange and cyan had quite large armies but they never went further than my starting tents where alexandros start, they went there and kinda clumped togheter or went back and forth, idk if they are supposed to do that much in that scenario tho but it got pretty difficult because they had a lot of men standing around right behind my base while i was struggling with 3 enemies and a wonder
ahh, i see.
For that scenario, the main benefit of having an ally there is mostly that, well, he isnāt an enemy and thatās less pressure you have to face, and also you have an allied market to trade with.
Also, if you choose to accept blueās surrender after you destroy green, they will send their navy to attack yellow.
If you ally with Orange, he should help you a bit by attacking green.
If you ally with Cyan and also blue after he surrenders, they are scripted to train navy and also build transports to land units to attack yellow, but using transports to land is just something the a.i really sucks at unfortunately.
Anyways, thanks for the feedback.
i choose to ally with cyan, blue and orange, blue didnt really have any units, orange was kinda stuck in their base, cyan had a few rams behind my base walking back and forth, i did finish the scenario and the campaign and i loved it, i was just a bit frustrated at seeing all the allied units behind me barely doing anything, i will update my review, i didnt know you made that one too, both of the campaigns ive played from you are amazing, do you have any other campaigns or any planned? i download a lot of mods but im not really familiar with this site so idk how to search for mods effeciantly
I mean there is no need, if thatās how you feel I encourage you not to let me guilt you into changing it.
However, the last thing I will say on it is that the reason they might be weak is possibly because since there is the possibility of facing all 5 other players as an enemy, they are a bit weak, as to not overwhelm the player with attacks if they happen to all be at war with the player.
Thanks, it means a lot! Iāve got a few Ideas but RN iām just planning on updating and voicing the 2nd part of the Julius Caesar campaign, and iām spending a little time on a simple single scenario thatās a twist on the 3rd Genghis Khan mission āinto Chinaā but in the Chinese perspective. Then i might have to update Alexander when the new DLC comes out.
Iāve got a bunch of campaign ideas, iām still just deciding which one to make next at the moment.
thanks for taking the time to reply, ive never been on these forums before, didnt know mod discussions was a thing, i also saw that your julius ceasar part 1 said that its the first out of 4 planned ones but the third is named finale, did you scrap the idea for a 4th part or is that still coming?
yea i noticed part 1 got voice in the latest update, gotta check that out, are you doing that yourself or by ai or are you getting voice actors?
Oh, the 4th part hasnāt been made yetā¦ but itās more of a sequal to Caesar, and it will a campaign on Augustus. Iām not exactly sure when it will be made, but right now iām not too interested in it, so iām not sure when it will be made, but hopefully it will be.
Iāve only been using a.i for my voices so far.
Also iāve made a campaign " King Edward IV" not sure if you have played or not. Itās probably my least favorite campaign and itās got a bunch of issues, but you are welcome to give it a try if want.
Anyways, thanks a lot for taking an interest in my work.
I look forward to anything you make so Iāll keep an eye out if it eventually happens, Ive been getting a bit interested in voice acting lately so thatās why I asked, I get that ai is the easiest for things like this
I have already finished king Edward too haha, it had a few issues but overall it was very enjoyable
