No More Unfairness: We Need a “Disable Premade Matchmaking” Option for Ranked Team Lobby!
The current ranked team matchmaking system is incredibly unfair. It makes no sense to allow a premade team to face a team of random players. This gives premades an overwhelming, insane advantage.
Premade teams almost always win ranked team games. They know each other, they communicate seamlessly, they speak the same language, and they execute strategies impossible for random teams.
A vast majority of premade teams use the same tactics: rush + cavalry spam or rush + archer spam and attack 3 vs 1. No one enjoys playing these kinds of matches, and it only drives away new players. We urgently need a “Disable Premade Matchmaking” option in the lobby for ranked team games to ensure a fair and fun experience for everyone.
While I agree with you that premade teams and lonely-wolves-teams shouldnt be matched togheter, I hardly see this happening. The playerbase is too small for that, unfortunately
that would be a complete success because nobody likes facing premade teams in team ranked! Nobody likes playing at a disadvantage! Nobody likes playing 6 minute team ranked games! Nobody likes facing a 3vs1! Nobody likes facing a team that only spams cavalry rush Nobody likes wasting their time facing 1700+ teams that always do the same troll play all the time because that’s boring!
It would cause issues like taking longer to get a game started and because of how the systems works in the games with expanding the Elo ranges after failing to get a game started within a certain amount time there would be bigger mismatches of Elo in games that finally do get started. AoMR doesn’t have nearly enough players to separate from randoms and premade teams.
How do you expect new players to get interested in playing team ranked matches? if when new players try to access team ranked, only to encounter premade teams of troll players who harass new players with toxic plays like 3 vs 1 rushes or spamming only cavalry, and on top of that, they insult you! No one can report them because they are a team of troll players
Does it seem fair that a random team of 1000 ELO new players faces a premade team of 1700 ELO troll players? Isn’t that just a waste of time? It’s more than obvious the 1700 ELO team will win. Wouldn’t it be better if premade teams only faced other premade teams? Why make players waste their time? or at least the freedom to choose not to face premade teams
No one wants to face premade teams in ranked matches because it’s a guaranteed loss, especially on water maps! For that very reason, no one wants to play water maps!
You make it seem like people que as 3s in a 3v3 to abuse other people. Thats how the game is meant to be played. If you want to throw a dart in the dark as to who your allies ill be and you are not 100% of the time happy with the outcome you gotta accept thats a downside to resfusing to do a bit of social work to play with other people of similar skill.

You seem to hold a grudge against people that are simply better at the game. They arent looking for a match to troll people most of the time. They are also looking to do with what they get. Usually better players like a challenge and want an even match. But if you are getting a team half your elo you gotta do soemthing to enjoy that match yourself. Same reason people impose self challenges in other games, you make due with what you have.
ITs true a coordinate team will beat a random one most of the time, even despite having lower Elo.
Sadly AOM is not big enough on players for this to be implemented and work in your favor. Not only would queu times go up but you can also just end up with a 1600+ guy in one team that still will win the game by himself very fast.
Low elos dont like to play them on 1v1 either so that isnt really the reason for it, but i guess its harder to win water if a random ally doesnt go water to begin with. On the other hand it is easier to win a game if you dont go water and just rush your opponent as 2+ people.
Pre-made teams are mostly made up of toxic players. They only make toxic plays like 3 vs 1, cavalry-only rushes, insults, unfair reports, and excessively unbalanced matches. Many players are fed up with pre-made teams. Please developers, make it so pre-made teams cannot play ranked. Pre-made teams are destroying the game. Nobody wants to play the game anymore because the game has become an overly toxic community. Currently, many ranked matches last less than 7 minutes; you enter a ranked game and there’s only cavalry rush or 3 vs 1 and that’s it, and all of that is thanks to pre-made teams. We are fed up with pre-made teams!!
Pre-made teams = excessively unbalanced matches, impossible-to-win matches, toxic community, cavalry-only spam, archer-only spam, insults, matches that last 7 minutes.
People play team games precisely because they can be premades. Putting this option would even prolong the already pretty hefty queue times. Playing against premades can be annoying but the solution to this is to put better communication tools for others people so they can coordinate better.

Imagine not being able to play a game with ftiends because someone else doesnt Want to do social work to find people to play with. Its an RTS. Real time strategy game. The point is to make strategies. The point is to play with other people (in ranked team match making).
You have the opportunity to go for matches solo and be paired with other people, thats your choice. If you Want to put the social work to make a team and make strategies with them and play together well ofc you are going to do better, you are putting more effort.
If you wanna control all the variables in a match, make a lobby and do as you see fit.

This is the only part where i agree with you. Toxicity shouldnt be tolerated. Yet that is not exclusive to people that play on teams.
Theres discords, reddit, communities. Would encourage you to find others to play with rather than try to bring every thing else to what you like or not.
I find this issue the biggest problem in 4v4 matches. If you search for 2v2 or 3v3 you generally get a decent game.
I think the system just needs to be altered to separate elo 950 and below from from eg 1200 + unless an average rating on both sides is met. Otherwise it wiuld be great if 4* elo of 1000± match 4 of the same. Not put someone who is 1300+ with 3* 1000-,. Occasionally it’s fine to have a game like this but it happens all the time.
I’d rather wait an extra 5minutes than waste 15mins on a game that’s unwinnable or you get tripled
The system tries, but sometimes the active people at the time are not too many. You being fine with waiting a bit lonnger and presume 5 min, and its something other people have expressed. What i havent seen much is the ceiling of what those comments would wait. Which limit of waiting time would yours be?. Because it could def reach higher than 5 extra minute wait times, specially 4v4 if it keeps crossing that ELO line (it already does).
yeah, i mean, if people are exclusively searching a 4v4 game, then it is hard, especially with a premade team on one side and random people on the other side.
Id like to see the system be changed so that it searches longer for 2v2 and 3v3 then, to make a match as the chances of players coming online is alot more than if it were to find a 4v4.
Still, back in voobly days, the TG experience was so much better as you could make a lobby, then choose it to be ranked, then play the game. Since 99% of games were rated, players had a pretty accurate rating and you could very easily balance teams before starting. Of course there were player who wanted to team and that was OK, but if it was hugely unbalanced you just left the lobby without any issues.
Id love to see a similar syste, or at least some unranked stats for custom games so people get an idea of their lvl and you can play custom games with fair teams. Maybe its too hard or im dreaming lol
Playing against pre-made teams is a waste of time. They almost always win, leading to incredibly unbalanced matches. If pre-made teams weren’t allowed in ranked games, all ranked matches would be much more balanced. As players, we have no interest in facing pre-made teams; it’s a frustrating and time-wasting experience.
Please, make pre-made teams only play unranked matches, similar to how it was in Age of Mythology: Extended Edition.

Its in the name “TEAM game” Ofc creating a team and designing a strategy will yield an advantage. Imagine a sport where teams are matched at random. Weird, no?
To expect people not to specially team up in a ranked enviroment is very odd. If you wanna just hit a button a wait some time and then get into a match without having to speak to anyone be my guest but you are setting the disadvantages yourself.

Reasons why premade teams should be disabled in ranked matches:
Premade teams are the cause of all unbalanced matches.
Premade teams hinder the normal progression of the game.
Premade teams are the cause of toxic matches, unsportsmanlike conduct, and disruptive behavior.
Premade teams only do cavalry rushes.
Premade teams only play 3 vs 1.
Premade teams cause matches to last only 7 minutes.
Premade teams cause your allies to abandon the game at the start because nobody wants to face them.
Premade teams are invincible on water maps, and for that reason, nobody wants to play water maps.
Matches against premade teams are a waste of time because they will always win.
If you lose against a premade team, you will lose a lot of Elo points even if your team has a low Elo level.
If there are 2 premade players on your team, when one of them starts to lose, their friend will also abandon the match, leaving you alone against 3 or 4 players.
Premade teams are an obstacle to climbing the Elo ladder in ranked team matches.
Nobody wants to face premade teams because they have a huge advantage, a high Elo level, and they always win with their 3 vs 1.
Premade teams drive away all players, including new players, and keep them at a very low level in team ranked matches.
If you don’t have a premade team, you will never be able to rank up. All top players in team ranked matches are on premade teams. BECAUSE PRE-MADE TEAMS FOUND AN EASY WAY TO LEVEL UP ELO JUST BY RUSHING 3 VS 1.

Not excusing toxic behaviour, but if you think solo queu players are never toxic ohh buddy i got sad news for you.
Coordinated aggresion is hard to deal with, on that im with you, still you can do that without being a premade team and you will still struggle vs it.
Its 3v3 always, if your allies cant/wont/dont care to help you its not your opponents fault.

False again, ELO has nothing to do with the opponents being a premade team or not and all with what their actual ELO is.
Im sure this never happens in solo queue that a players is getting owned and he just stays in the game for the sake of his allies. Im sure solo queue never quit. Oh wait…

You can def rank up. People do it all the same as solo queue. It will be harder, and there will be a ceiling. But its a team game, teaming up is a valid choice. There no game that does competitive teamplay and doesnt allow players to team up. Its absurd what you are asking.
I have been following your posts for quite some time and honestly its amazing how much biased words someone can write and even tho, everyone has been telling you your wrong 90% of time, you still keep doing that.
Teamgames are meant to be played with teammates, find some friends, try to communicate a bit, you will see how good they actually are. But for the love of God, stop talking nonsense and giving your all to convince everyone else that your way is the only way.
