Yes, it’s because the same guy won again, but it’s not my only reason.
I prefer winners whose personality also clicks for me.
One of the best part of AOE2 tournaments is that almost every tournament has it’s own “gimmick”. All tournaments have their own feel and make them feel unique. That also forces players to adapt. Regular 3 vil starts are seen by many too slow nowadays and many tournaments are moving to 9 vil starts. But then you have other extreme which is death match. In death match you start in late imp with all upgrades and ton of resources, those games can be over in 5 minutes.

I mean, even the Deathmatch community is still alive and hosting tournaments.
I’ll be sure to avoid Deathmatch tournaments
