These are reconstruction Anglo-Saxon buildings from the 6th-8th centuries. I imagine something like this would be appropriate for some other Germanic civs as well. They could also have pit houses/Grubenhäuser, which were fairly widespread in northern Europe, e.g. here’s an Anglo-Saxon example:
6 in the base game (Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, Royal Naboo, Gungans, Wookies, Trade Federation) and two more in the expansion (Galactic Republic, Confederacy).
Units are not rendered at 60fps. Some animations only have 45 or even 30 frames and are longer than 1 second. Example: War Elephant idle animation has 60 frames and lasts 3 seconds. So even on 2x speed, those 60 frames are drawn out over 1.5 seconds. What’s even dumber is that the framerate is completely inconsistent between units. For example, Elite Battle Elephants only have half the frames on their attack animation that normal ones do.
And on the topic of rendering each single frame… isn’t it basically just taking snapshots of a 3D model’s animations? Can’t be that much more time consuming than shipping 3D models as-is, or am I wrong?
The American civs need differet mills entirely! Same with all the other horizontal mills. They don’t work if one side isn’t blocked off lol. And the current meso Feudal Age mill spins the wrong way around. The sails show wind coming clockwise but it’s spinning the other way. Spirit of the Law made a video on this a while ago and this still hasn’t been fixed…
Indeed, it dates back to even earlier builds, when ships and the Dock were intended to have reflections in general, and the water terrain was darker. Something that was eventually scrapped.
