It would be interesting if they included more Age 1 campaigns since they had started it with 4 of them and the others would be missing. I don’t know if they would add more or if they would leave it like this, I prefer that the others continue adding it so we would have all the Age 1 campaigns.

They’ve failed by not making the DLC standalone and porting everything from the original game, so it could be the go-to option for people interested in AoE 1.

Honestly I don’t think ROR has a whole lot of players anymore, I think Chronicles represents pivoting away from ROR as the main Pre-medieval part of the franchise.
I have mixed opinions on it personally, I don’t like how few defensive options there were in AoE 1/ROR, but its still got nostalga and there is some Bronze age and before representation that i’m not sure Chronicles will hit on.

I’d love having campaigns for missing aoe1 civs. Idk if we know a lot about epic stories back then but it can permit to have more than our existing “train 25 centurions and win” campaigns it would be really good.
I know nothing about Yamato, Shang or even Lac Viet
Looking forward for more, it could really permit RoR to have a single player player base

Chronicles seems to be pure Iron Age when looking age names.
Yeah, that being said I wonder if they’re not planning on adding civs from different time periods with completely different tech trees and age names later.
I’ve no doubt that a Lac Viet campaign would feature the Trung sisters, all the civ’s AI names are related to their rebellion against the Han dynasty. I’d really like to see that, and also campaigns (or at least scenarios) for all the campaign-less civs, as well as ports of the remaining old campaigns. I’m not convinced it will ever happen, though, but who knows.
