One of the Shu’s new UUs is the War Chariot, which shares its name with a completely different unit - the Chronicles’ War Chariot (currently exclusive to Achaemenids, but labelled as a regional unit).
Despite the similar name, one is a heavy cavalry and the other is a “siege cavalry” replacement for the Scorpion
To avoid confusion, I think one of them should be renamed.
Maybe the Chronicles one could simply be renamed “Chariot”, or the Shu could be something like “Siege Chariot”/“Crossbow Chariot”/“Chariot Crossbow”?
Even if the Chronicles civs are not available in ranked, they can still be played against regular AoE2 civs in casual games, so they shouldn’t have different units with the same name.

“Crossbow Platform” does the job. Calling it a “chariot” is a misnomer, as chariots were not used by the Three Kingdoms period anyway.
Not just that. 3 Kingdoms civs and Chronicles civs share bonuses.

It does look like a chariot though… until it starts moving and you realize it’s as slow as a Teutonic Knight! I actually think my biggest issue is how slow it moves compared to what you’d expect from looking at it.
Slow? Then I guess it isn’t a total copy of the one from The Hobbit films…

The 3K variants could be renamed as Charioteer, simply because Achaemenids use them much more for war than the Shu that use them for transport
And to fight against. There is no visual indicator for both players and opponents as to what mode it is in.
Unlike the Ratha and Immortal, who both change quite distinctly.

Yeah, if you copied the one from the Hobbit you’d get a pretty crazy cheat unit.
The Shu War Chariot is not that. You shouldn’t bet on it in a Hippodrome chariot race.
Just call it Chu Ko Nu Chariot, or something. It’s literally an upscaled Chu Ko Nu mounted on a Chariots
It’s another disappointment that before the reveal, when we only know the unit icon, I thought it’s 床弩(Bed Crossbow), the type of medieval Chinese large mounted crossbows, and those things does able to shoot multiple bolts at once, like how the current War Chariot have barrage mode (but they can’t shoot repeatedly).
If we somehow convince the devs to rebrand the civs, I recommend call it Bed Crossbow. (And maybe remove those 2 horses.)
