Replays show wrong players info

:arrow_forward: GAME INFORMATION

 These details are CRITICAL; DO NOT skip them or your issue may not be reviewed.

  • GAME BUILD #: V.101.101.59165.0 8211018
(Why do I have to manually write such a long versioning string?)
  • GAME PLATFORM: Steam
  • OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 10

:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.
When reviewing replays, the player selected in the replay viewer is not the actual player being followed. In fact it seems to be in a completely random order what player each name corresponds to. Never experienced this before even for this patch but happened in all my games today.

The only mod I could think might affect this is the villesse UI mod, but I don’t see how moving the visual location of ui elements would cause the replay viewier to break.

:arrow_forward: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

 How often does the issue occur? CHOSE ONE; DELETE THE REST!

  • 50% of the time / matches I play (FREQUENTLY) (Happening now, not sure if it will always happen)
(This is a random guess. Happened 100% today but never before)

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

 List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Play a teamgame 2v2 on the ranked ladder
  2. Watch the replay
  3. (Optional) use the viewlock feature which makes it obvious you are veiwing the wrong player

:arrow_forward: EXPECTED RESULT

 What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?

The player selector allows me to view the player I selected

:arrow_forward: IMAGE

 ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.

You can see that despite selecting the blue player it is actually following the yellow player. The other player selectors are also messed up.

:arrow_forward: GAME FILES (SAVE / RECORDING)

 Attach a SAVE GAME (.aoe2spgame) or GAME RECORDING (.aoe2record) of the match where you encountered the issue. Link it below if using an external file service.

  • Sorry new users can’t upload attachments :stuck_out_tongue: (and I’m not going to set up a file sharing service for this, too much effort. If aoeinsights and aoe.net can host games for no benefit, surely you can allow upload of recs.)

Yup it’s been like this since the latest update. Sometimes restarting the replay will fix this bug, but not sure if it works every time.

Hi!

Thanks for this, we are already tracking this issue!
