Request: More ROR units added to the main Editor

I’d like to see more units form ROR added to the main games Editor.
The editor already has the broad swordsman in the form of the heavy swordsman and the AOE priest.

This would mostly just be useful for custom scenarios with the Chronicles Civs, to add more visual options for units/Heroes.

Yes, I agree, we should be able to use those

Yes but they need being balanced for AOE2, as stats are much higher for AOE1

(lacking the +10 hp from the recent patch won’t change the result by much, while the centurion lacks +5 attack and +3 armour so he should be even stronger)

In custom scenarios, stats can be edited.

I like how it is solved with chronicles. They are also not perfectly balanced but in the same dataset.
ROR is a separate data set which makes the game load longer to switch between the game modes and makes all units unavailable in the editor.

I would wish, they just merge the datasets like they did with chronicles.

Unit stats are in line with AOE2, even though fine balance isn’t an issue as chronicles civs are not in ranked multiplayer. Compare with the centurion who has 160 hp, 30+7 melee attack and 8+6 melee armour for 60f 40g while being a bit faster than the comparatively-priced TK…

If you had to edit unit stats every time to look remotely balanced it would be very impractical, better come up with official AOE2-level stats for AOE1 units when used in the AOE2 dataset.

We also have the female Villager from RoR as a regional skin (certain tasks are different). And the Photonman, though its current sprite appeared in AoE2 DE first.

I’d like to see more graphics in the base game that are currently exclusive to RoR mode. But many of the RoR assets are somewhat blurry, they should be fixed first.

The Long Swordsman could be taken from that anniversary event mod, the design is one of my favourites from AoE1. Would make a nice “upgrade” to the Heavy Swordsman.

I’d also like to see the Cataphract, but I don’t like the horse walking animation of AoE DE that much. Hero Pyrrhus could be taken as is, he’s derived from base game cavalry.

It could also go the other way - many Chronicles assets would be useful for RoR.

Yes the blurry ROR sprites are an issue I hope they resolve at some point.

There some in the main game too, many have noticed the new Chinese castle, and the Chronicles paragon unit is less sharp than his contemporaries.

Tho, if they merge the data sets, I guess it will not be anymore possible to sell RoR as a standalone DLC, if they would decide to do this one day. I might be wrong tho.

They are merged with chronicles and chronicles is sold separately
