Interesting what changed compared to AoE1DE.
It looks bigger and a little more detailed because of that.
The columns are not in player colours anymore.
A lot of details like the sun roofs are exactly the same though.
The model is already in the game, it’s the Amphitheatre.
From the Wiki page:
The model of the Amphitheatre in the Definitive Edition is almost the same model as the Wonder of the Roman architecture set in Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, just slightly more detailed.
Oh wow, I forgot about that. I just remembered the oval shape Colosseum.
That means they didn’t even tease us with something new from RoR, they just posted old AoE2DE content. Oh wow.
I hope that changes today.
I guess that becomes the wonder of the potential 43rd civ?
We have never had a civ just use an already existing building as a wonder.
I sure hope they add a new one for that.
But I think we might know by the end of the day (or tomorrow, depending on your time zone).
Hm… should there be Romans, what wonder do you suggest?
Turks.
Word limit sucks
Pantheon.
The Colosseum already exists as an oval shaped building like in real life but that has a larger footprint.
A round amphitheatre would be kinda disappointing.
No. The Turks have been in the game since the very beginning so there can’t have been anything in the game before they were added.
The Turks’ wonder was the first to be added to the game.
That’s a good observation. It is possible.
Go check the wiki if you dont believe.
It doesn’t really matter if things were different before the release of the game.
But since the very first time AoE2 was sold the Turks already had the same wonder they have now. The building could not appear anywere else first because the game was not finished before that.
The Amphitheatre has been in the publicly available version of the game for many many years by now, that’s a whole different story.
What are you even talking about?the turks had the same building for the wonder and the mosque also used the same graphic since age of kings.the game was finished and released by then ![]()
ok then we are not talking about the same thing.
I said there was never a civilisation added that used a building that already existed before as a wonder.
In the case of the Mosque they were added at the same time.
I really hope this week
Oh yep, true.
The only civ where the wonder was changed iirc was Britons as in the CD and HD versions they had the Aachen Cathedral. They now have the Chichester Cathedral while the Aachen Cathedral remains in the game files in the editor.
Indians where changed too but now they were split up anyway with both of the old wonders being used by one of the new civs.
Considering this DLC was a very big task for game devs and AOE2 is not the main focus, I won’t have that high expectation.
Umm…no. Only one. No civ uses Gol Gombuj as their wonder.
Oh true, mixed it up with the Hindustani wonder.
