Rework some of Japan HCC

Hi, since I love playing in Japanese and after a long time, I think there are useless cards and technology that need to rework on it.

  • Cards:

Sumptuary Laws:

if you compare with another cards you will see it nothing , it will give you just 21 from each resource per min!! When some cards give 90 food or 99 coin in min , so it not working efficiently the Xp and export also just nothing.

Flatland Castle / Extensive Fortifications:

The problem is the castle main hp and attack is not affect on anime so, if you will increase the hp 10% or 25% is juts waste the Xp , or increase the limit also not enough. And as you know japan not have a fort so I suggest to add castle attack to Shogunate for example because it castle in real.

Atonement:

Yojimbo is very expensive / 4 pop/ not upgraded automatically like other mers.And there is no card or technology improvements affect on him, I think it should be rework on this.

Zen Diet:

It need to add reduce train time of villagers, because the wood gathering is already less than food. Bring 4 villagers is better than use this card.

  • Technology:

Clan Offerings:

In isolate Consulate, cost 400 export and you should build a castle to get the samurai?!! You didn’t want to use it :joy:. It should be change to give you castle maybe, or replace the samurai with ronin may it work I don’t know.

Meiji Restoration:

Too expensive and no wonder build so, you lose more than gain advantage.

If it shipping rickshaw to build wonder it will be better.

The Great Buddha:

**In age 4 and 5 I didn’t need to the “**Orchard Rickshaw” so if it change to court of resource or rice paddy it will be better.

The last note is: the flaming arrow not affect with “Golden Pavilion” bonuses. I think at least affect with the speed to encourage its use because there no speed technology for flaming arrow in arsenal.

Japan doesnt need stronger units, they snowball enough.

Yes, this and the TEAM version need a buff. Maybe by removing some resources from the trickle.

I didn’t talk about japan army, but some of them need a buff.

I mean why they put a cards with no affective like hire Yojimbo.

Japan don’t have a cavalry archer, Yabusame like Culverin but less range. If you will compare Yabusame with Cavalry Archer he has less hp and less damage vs heavy cavalry, also more expensive.

Unfortunately we no longer have developer support. They said we were getting a DLC then decided we weren’t even worth a final patch to fix long-standing issues. Having said that, I’ll weigh in anyway.

I believe I have seen Sumptuary Laws in a high level player’s deck before. That suggests it’s at least situationally better than 2 vills or Heavenly Karma. It could maybe use a very small buff, but probably not a bigger one than +0.15 or 0.20 collectively across all resources. It’s also worth noting that even the tiny amount of export is ~3 vills worth.

I wouldn’t make the Shogunate a fort, that could cause unexpected issues, but buffing Flatland Castle for all three Asian civs seems perfectly reasonable.

The issue here is largely that only Sweden should have been able to get fully imperial mercs. The Merc Contractor (V) should have only been +30% and been exclusive to Sweden and all civs should get +10% attack/hp at both Age 4 and Age 5 (Sweden would see no change on maxed out mercs).

In light of the current situation though, adding +15% attack and hitpoints for each of the Asian civs respective units wouldn’t seem unfair.

Batch training in groups of 10 (tech) and +7% attack (isolation bonus) are enough of a reason for Japanese Isolation even ignoring all the other techs.

Flaming Arrows are pretty great. At least in treaty being trained from the shogun. You probably can’t buff them much with creating issue. The only thing I’d consider would be moving part of the anti artillery bonus to age 3 and leaving it with the same maxed stats later.

The only thing they really need is to gain their max range with the guard upgrade instead of imperial.
