Roman AI player names : who the Romans cover

Indeed.

How many AI names can a civ have ? Is it restricted to 14 or can it be expanded further ?

Majorian is a good choice. The story can start from Majorian in prison, captured and tortured by Ricimer, while he starts to recall his memory in his life.
The first chapter starts when Majorian was still young and followed Aetius into Gaul serving as an officer. His first trial is battle against invading Franks(450).
And next chapter of his memoir is bloody battle of Chalon(451, now itā€™s Roman version instead of Huns), as he witnessed whole battle and Aetiusā€™s great deeds.
After he grieffully recalled Aetiusā€™s demise (454) we start our third chapter, defend Rome against Vandals (457) who already sacked Rome in 455, and now landed in Campania and invaded again.
The fourth chapter starts his three-year campaign. First in Gaul against Visigoths and Burgundians(now we have this faction) and Bagaude(could be Celts).
The fifth chapter is the reconquest of Hispania(459) against Suebi (or plus Visigoths) and Vandals in Africa. Naval combat against Vandals can be a major theme in this chapter. The last scene is that Majorian returns to Italy, speak in monologue preparing to deal with the domestic issues, riding towards the edge of the map, and then suddenly get ambushed and arrested. The five-chapter campaign concludes here.

Letā€™s get greedy and wish for six

The dev may find the business opportunity starting selling campaigns dlc. :grinning:

Is there a need for a 6th one when it comes to the story ? Sometimes itā€™s best only to have 5 for pacing reasons. Just like some movies are better if they last 90 minutes instead of being stretched to 2 hours.

Thereā€™s no need, actually, but we already have some six scenarios campaign and I really like long campaigns. But thatā€™s me. Everyone would have their own opinions

Edit: this is what ChatGPT said about a six scenario campaign
Campaign Name: Majorianā€™s Quest for Unity

Summary

Background:
In the late 5th century, the Western Roman Empire was in disarray, with barbarian invasions and internal struggles tearing the empire apart. It was during this period that Flavius Julius Valerius ########### commonly known as Majorian, rose to power as the Emperor of the West.

Majorian was a skilled general and administrator, and he sought to reunite the fractured Western Roman Empire and restore its former glory. He embarked on a series of military campaigns and reforms aimed at strengthening the empire and bringing its people together.

As a player, you will guide Majorian through six scenarios as he works to achieve his vision of a united Western Roman Empire.

Scenario 1: The Defense of Rome
Rome itself is under threat as the Vandals and their allies besiege the city. The player must lead Majorianā€™s army to defend Rome and break the siege.

Scenario 2: The Battle of Arelate
With Rome secure, Majorian faces the Visigoths, who have invaded Gaul and threaten to conquer the region. The player must lead Majorianā€™s army to defeat the Visigoths and secure control over Arelate, a strategically important city.

Scenario 3: The Siege of Milan
In this scenario, Majorian faces internal strife as the citizens of Milan rebel against Roman rule. The player must help Majorian crush the rebellion and reassert Roman authority over the city.

Scenario 4: The War in Hispania
Majorian sets his sights on Hispania, which has been seized by a coalition of barbarian tribes. The player must lead Majorianā€™s army to victory in a series of battles, culminating in the capture of the capital city of Tarraco.

Scenario 5: The Reconquest of Africa
Having defeated the Vandals, Majorian turns his attention to Africa, which has been lost to the Roman Empire. The player must help Majorian reclaim the region and defeat the Berber tribes who have taken control.

Scenario 6: The Legacy of Majorian
Majorian has accomplished much during his reign, but his enemies have not given up. As he grows older, there are those who seek to overthrow him and undo his achievements. In this scenario, the player must defend Majorian and his legacy against a rebel faction that seeks to seize power.

The player must navigate a series of challenges, including diplomatic ####tiations, espionage, and military battles, as they work to preserve Majorianā€™s vision of a united Western Roman Empire. The final battle takes place in the streets of Rome, where the player must lead Majorianā€™s army to victory against the rebels.

The outcome of this battle will determine the future of the Western Roman Empire. If the player succeeds in defending Majorianā€™s legacy, the empire may continue to thrive. If they fail, the empire may fall into chaos and disarray, leading to its eventual collapse.

It needs a little polish but you get the idea, like scenario 1 being the sack of Rome, when it could be Majorian battling the Vandals near Sinuessa
