Roundhouse attack does not deal equal damage to all units in the area

So roundhouse attack for Chinse monk is bugged. It only deals full damage to a single unit, the one targeted, but the units around it never receive the full damage, only around half. Additionally, it’s supposed to be 3 area of effect but it feels like less, or at best it is very inconsistent (specially after seeing the Aztec Warchief in action with an equivalent move)

The move also fails to shadowtech in imperial, as it does for the other ages. Also it cannot be upgraded from the monastery attack, even though it is basically a sharpshooter attack if it benefited from the upgrade and basically no one ever goes for this card anyway; one of the few Hero cards in Age II.

This is extra, but the move takes 120 seconds to cooldown which I think is too much compared to other moves like it.

In this instance interestingly, non of them died, even if by the numbers at least the targeted units should have received a 1 hit KO (Age IV move vs Age II units).

Thats how area damage works in aoe3; only units close to the center of the attack will take more damage and less the further away they are.

Ive only ever seen this card/ability used in 1v1 as a well placed hit can really change a battle.

This ability is a bit buggy as its animation is VERY slow and can be avoided if noticed (even if the animation is finished). Similar to how you can dodge cannon balls if fast enough.

For the roundhouse age 5 not getting stronger inline with the other age ups isn’t all that strange as if they buffed it even further in age5 it could kill a cav unit like a snipe AND deal like half the health of other cav units. The monk is supposed to be a tanky/anti light infantry hero. Though i say this it is costing a CARD to get this ability so maybe it should get an age 5 buff not really sure as MOST games are over before age 5.

Over all i think a rework of the ability is in order as its inconsistent/difficult to use and is rarely used to begin with. A very simple rework would be aoe4 Joan of Arc ability Holy Wrath copy paste it/rename and done (be sides all the new programing that would be need to do this) . Something that could really be cool and easier to do would be to turn it into a stomp with a small crater at the center of the hero (like a bombard shot) with a large damage area effect maybe 5-6 and tweak the damage so that it doesnt become over powered, just easier to use. Can even add a NEW cosmetic ability to adding thunder or fire to the effect kind a like the new funny/mythic hero skins.

Over all just make it FUNNER and easier to use.

My thoughts exactly, and it is also one of the only cards of that type that is blocked behind Age II, instead of Age III.

Agreed, although I think at least it locks to original unit you target.

Should be changed for this card since once again, it should have the power of an Age II card and it doesn’t.

This is in line to what it does now (when it does work) so not really game changing/breaking, just a matter of scaling.

I think this card is a good point of reference for how powerful an Age II Hero card should be
