Saves Made In Campaign Sometimes Fail To Load

Issue:

Made multiple saves in Mission 18 of the Fall Of The Trident campaign, none of them will load.

Trigger Event:

Made a save in FOTT mission 18 and attempted to load it.

Repro Steps:

Edited Note: I was eventually able to reproduce this on multiple other missions. It’s not deterministic aside from the fact that if it happens once, it will happen every single time until you restart the mission.

  1. Play mission 18 of FOTT campaign.
  2. Attempt to load save.
  3. See “failed to load save”.
  4. Optionally, repeat for multiple different saves.

After restarting the mission, I was unable to reproduce the issue again. So I suspect that means that it’s not specific to a mission in particular but rather specific to a given run of a mission. At this point I’m unclear what the actual reproduction steps are. But hopefully the save files I provided are helpful.
