Scenario Editor help :

I need some help with the Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition Scenario Editor.I am trying to add ambient birds to my custom map. However, when I place any type of bird, they just hover and stay completely frozen in one place. They do not move or fly away even after I launch the match or playtest the map.Is there a specific trigger setup, a unit flag modification, or a workaround I should use to make these birds fly around naturally?Any advice or guide on how to animate them would be greatly appreciated! thank you.

Hmm, that’s something I never really pay attention to.

Isn’t it the map type that makes the birds appear?

For example, setting the map type to Saguenay will cause the Saguenay birds to appear correctly ?

As Stark22e wrote, flying birds will appear when you select certain map types, found under “World” > “Map Types”. For example, if you tick “amazonia”, you’ll get Amazonian birds. These cannot be selected, they just come and go.

Regarding the flying birds placed manually, you can use triggers to make them move to certain spots, but I don’t know whether it’s also possible to make them behave like their AoE2DE and AoMR counterparts, sorry.

Thanks for the answers! I didn’t know about the Map Types setting. I will definitely try this setup out. Thanks for clarifying this for me!
