ISSUE EXPERIENCED
DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.
When hosting custom scenarios with fixed player colors, player colors differ between the lobby/server and in-game. This leads to severe hosting, playing and replaying issues.
Also the map displayed (and probably behavior) is broken, For example, when starting hosting if the map was selected is Kirby, then it will show up in the lobby browser, in game and in replays.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does the issue occur? CHOSE ONE; DELETE THE REST !
- 50% of the time all or some players disconnect or crash
- 100% of the time all colors are incorrect
REPRODUCTION STEPS
List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptiv e!
Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:
-
Make a scenario with fixed colors
-
Create a multiplayer lobby and play with AI / real players
-
During hosting, in game and after the game the information is broken.
EXPECTED RESULT
What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not prese nt?
- At least matching colors.
- Ideally add a possibility to refer to player’s numbers (colors) instead of their position in lobby in scenarios, RMS and XS. With that players will not be forced to have specific colors.
IMAGE
ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the prob lem.
The map name is wrong in replays:
Mismatching colors in lobby:
This match lasted 1:27:00 without issues but cannot be replayed. I suspect this is caused by the XS script being modified after the game, as the replay likely does not store the exact script version used during the match
GAME FILES (SAVE / RECORDING)
Attach a SAVE GAME (.aoe2spgame) or GAME RECORDING (.aoe2record) of the match where you encountered the issue. Link it below if using an external file ser vice.
