Screen corrupted when launching game after new update

The game used to work fine until the recent update on 4/4/23. Now when I launch the game the screen is corrupted and the game is unplayable. A screenshot is pasted below.

I am running AOE4 on my laptop with a discrete gpu (AMD 6500M) and also an integrated gpu (AMD 680M). Interestingly, when I run the game on the integrated gpu the screen is fine. Other games run fine on the discrete gpu, so it is specific to AOE4.
