They would probably have attacked Malta again, this time conquering it and then attacking Sicily and southern Italy…
HRE and Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth stopped Ottomans:
The Siege and Battle of Vienna took place at Kahlenberg Mountain near Vienna on 12 September 1683 after the city had been besieged by the Ottoman Empire for two months. The battle was fought by the Holy Roman Empire (led by the Habsburg monarchy) and the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, both under the command of King John III Sobieski, against the Ottomans and their vassal and tributary states. The battle marked the first time the Commonwealth and the Holy Roman Empire had cooperated militarily against the Ottomans. The defeat was a turning point for Ottoman expansion into Europe, after which they would gain no further ground.
Khmer would be a good one.
Nice take!
100 agree%
What upgraded graphics are you talking about?
Was thinking the same
Spain is a must!
Now, about American Civs, I really wonder how they could deliver siege or siege counter to complete their armies. You see, there is no siege in Mesoamerican Warfare, more than sappers
Play as the British. Look at the sheep.
Play as the Byzantines. Look at the sheep.
The newer factions, ‘Order of the Dragon’, ‘Byzantines’, Japanese, etc, have more detailed graphics than the first generation factions. Look for it - you’ll see it. More vibrant colors, better contrast, more detail.
Ohh nice
Gonna check those closer!
My guesses:
civs:
- Persia/Korea/Khmers
- Italy or Papal state
- Spain or one of its kingdoms
- Almoravid/Almohad Caliphates/Moors could be turned into variant knowing how lightly civs are tied historically.
Variants:
- Tatars/The Golden Horde as Mongolian variant
- Teutonic knights as German variant
I am mostly wanting Mamluk Sultanate but it was turned into Ayyubids, it really should be an OOTD/KT mix variant for Abbasid.
How crazy would it be if they released a base civ and a variant for it simultaneously.
Probably like in AoE 3 with anti-buildings archers…at most we would see battering rams and “captured cannons”…
Yes, what one of them told me is that it could be Aragon and the Khanate of a certain so-and-so (and I told him, couldn’t it be the Chagatai Khanate?), he said, “Yes, it could be,” he didn’t remember the name…
I would give a unique technology to the HRE called “Livonian Order” that replaces the HRE MAA with Teutonic Knights and can create Grand Masters of the Order, then another could be “Carolingian Legacy” that allows them to create Frankish Throwing Axeman from the Archery Range and another would be “Memories of Alaric” that allows them to create Huskarls (but they will definitely give them to the Vikings/Danes/Norse), so I’ll stick with the first 2 only, so the HRE would get 3 new UUs…
They can also add mamelukes as variant to abbasid.French and abbasid had a lots of variant tho.
Also one more thing people love differences in civs but too much unique unit makes game harder to play for newcomers. So i hope devs dont add too much new units unless its necessary.
I see the same sheep.
Apparently @Jodet can tell the difference.
hahahaa how funny mate ![]()
Yep. Was thinking the same
Otherwise it would be really strange, not historically accurate
Maybe their buildings are the strongest, and their units are the fastest of them all!

Yes, I was chatting with some people I talk to about AoE 4 and I told them that the Aztecs and Incas could have Mantels to replace the Springald (probably in Feudal Age), the Native Battering Ram to replace the normal Battering Ram (in Castle Age) and the Captured Cannon to replace the normal Bombard (in Imperial Age)…

The Captured Cannon, not being part of the native tech tree, remains as is and that’s it…
Hello MatM1996, I hope you are doing well. Your suggestions are very good. Regarding the cannon: the Aztecs came to use European weapons that they managed to capture from Spanish soldiers killed during the “Noche triste”. Since American civilizations did not have horses and did not know about steel or gunpowder, one mechanic they could have is looting/stealing enemy technologies. For example, in Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition, American civilizations can obtain the Xólolt Warrior unit if they capture an enemy stable.
greetings.
Yeah @MatM1996 suggestions are very cool!
Hopefully, we’ll play with them this fall
