Seeking Solutions for Pathfinding Issues in AOE2 DE

Hello, Age of Empires Community,

Given the enduring nature of this problem, I am eager to contribute towards a solution. I believe that, with appropriate access to the AOE2 DE codebase, we could potentially reintegrate the pathfinding logic from earlier versions of the game (e.g., Age of Kings or AOE HD) to improve the current state of pathfinding in AOE2 DE.

I have been a dedicated player of the Age of Empires series since experiencing the AOE1 demo in 1997. My affection for the franchise makes me reluctant to abandon the game over this issue, despite its frustration. As a programmer, I am willing to volunteer my time to address this pathfinding problem. I would greatly appreciate any tools, documentation, or guidance that could facilitate this process.
