I don’t think that this is a good sign for Aoe franchise. As it makes players to lose faith in the ongoing development of the game, the community will become smaller and slowly lead to the death of the game.

I don’t think it’s ruined the game, it still fun for me and that’s what matters when I’m playing a video game but yes, it is a loss. I do think this issue get’s a bit overblown though. If you enjoy the game then you enjoy the game, even if displeased with new additions.

I think we need to coalesce around one realistic idea. As much as I wish, I don’t think 3K civs are going to be removed.
An alternative is a second queue, that is limited to non-DLC civs (or maybe even aoc civs). I think if there is enough demand for it, this might happen
But I like all the other DLC civs a lot and want 3K nuked from orbit and the devs responsible fired on Livestream

Well another consequence is that I would avoid any potential future products put out by World’s Edge.

Except if the devs add a ladder filtering type where you can have specific pools or ranked civs. In that case, those players will come back.
But the civs won’t be removed from the base game at all.
Who knows. I might be joking, but maybe their plan was to first get the money from those who like 3K, and then move 3K to chronicles to get money from us. Hooray, they get money from everyone!
It would be as profitable, and corporately better, to release 2 DLC. A 3K DLC framed like Chronicles and one standard.
As it seems it was previously the project!!
