As recent beasty video explains, there is ranked point (1v1 and team) and hidden elo points (1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4).
While 1v1 match making is relatively good, the team game match making is discouraging.
Can we please create separate rank for 2v2 3v3 and 4v4 ?
For context, let’s say A B C D are four conq-ranked players that previously only play 2v2. They all have 2v2hidden elo around 1500.
Since they never played 3v3 or 4v4 before, their hidden elo are still 1000.
When they decided to team together for 4v4, they get matched with people with average elo 1000. Moreover, the game consider this matchmaking as “fair” and “have equal chance of winning for both side”, and punish the other team with elo lost as if they lost a fair match.
By making 2v2 3v3 4v4 different rank instead of using team rank, a player with conqueror rank wouldn’t have a hidden elo of 1000 because he played a lot of 2v2 but is considered a “new player” to 3v3 and 4v4.
The exact same thing would happen if ranked points were separated.
As they would still be unranked in 3v3/4v4 when having only played 2v2, even if they are high conq there.
The actual solution would be combining all team elo and all team rank.
Though, many people would cheese 3v3/4v4 to get an easy conq reward, as individual skill in 2v2 and especially 1v1 is much (!!!) higher than in 3v3 and especially 4v4.
What could work, is having elo spill over from any kind of team-mode to any other team-mode.
Let’s say someone has only played 2v2, then his elo in 3v3/4v4 would be starting at the same point once he picked that mode up and only from there he would play his placements.
The problem again is steam libary sharing.
People can just multiply accounts and always start at unranked/low elo again while already being experienced and skilled.
Steam libary sharing has to be disabled ASAP for ranked.
Also would MASSIVELY help with the maphacking situation.
Right. But kind of like a conq player who previously only play 1v1 now switches to team game. The reason separate rank exists is because 1v1 and TG are with different skills.
It’s a better idea than completely separate hidden elo. It is not logical to assume that someone have 1500 points on 1v1 is a total beginner on TG. Skills do transfer.
