Serious debate, Trading Post changed to 250 wood

One issue with this is Native posts. Natives cost 50% food and 225 doesn’t split well.

I think the current price of TP is fine, but there are some civilizations like Ottomans and Spanish that have very good momentum using TP.

I proposed above that TP would only be available after building a market, so it would be 300 initial wood and it would be an indirect nerf to TP.

just leave them at 100/100 honestly - native TPs are barely a problem with this(excluding Scottish Immigrants but USA doesn’t care with chinese TPs)

SOLD!!!

I don’t like the trade route system here at all. They came up with it just to add trains to the game. I liked the old system from AOM and AoE 1-2 better. You had farms for food and trade routes for gold. And now, like in a mobile game, you have farms, plantations and factories that generate resources out of thin air. No hunting for caravans, no variety in resource extraction gameplay. Sad.

The solution to GMT and other strats is quite easy: Git Gud.
Why allow the enemy to capture a important limitet resource that you could use instead?
I guess that it only make sense if your game plan limits to “build barracks fast, rush, win game”.

On Safe TP maps where the lines are in the back, a potential change could be to just use the Silk road trading post where you have to capture them instead of building anything.

Its a good incentive to invest military to capture them.

The risk of lost eco is much higher

IIRC they cant be upgraded so all of otto’s eco trick are useless

that and also reduce TP HP in general
