Serjeants need extra usage (like bonus damage against heavy armor)

The gimmick of being a melee unit with long-range attacks is good, but in reality, its usage is ambiguous. Tooltip says it’s good for attacking long-range units, but it’s better to use a horsemen because there’s no additional bonus damage against archers.

I wish there was a minor bonus damage against heavy armored units like Ghazi raiders. Or it would be good to temporarily lower enemy’s defense to help other units attack.

As OTD player i cant even make my beloved MAA in the early game becouse sergents destroy them so easily no this unit is OP if anything its damage to buildings is crazy

OOTD’s MAA are rubbish, don’t bother with them use archers instead

At high levels of play, conq+. Serjeants are niche at best and they don’t nearly approximate the benefits of KT early knights ().

I thought they would do something a bit more to make the unit playstyle/MU functional. At best they are a feudal unit given the matchup. Meanwhile contrast serjeants a unit like Ayyubid’s Desert Raider, which exceptionally versatile!!

For a unit that is only unlocked via age choice I would like if it were more relevant. And one of the ways they could achieve this IMO is to lower the cost and train time the way they did with HK.

Units with special abilities like melee + range would be way too OP if they suddenly replaced crossbow AND were good against siege AND were good against horsemen.

Serjent should remain a niche unit otherwise it will start to break the counter system

Also keep in mind that Antioch is already the best age up bonus. So there’s no reason to make it a must take.

Serjeants seem very good in certain scenarios but terrible in others, I think less delay in their attacks and perhaps 1 ranged armor would help them out alot.
