WHAT: Server Maintenance (Multiplayer Servers)

EST. DOWNTIME: 1-2 HOURS

GAMES & PLATFORMS:

  • Age of Empires: Definitive Edition (Steam / Microsoft Store )
  • Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (Steam / Microsoft Store / Xbox / PlayStation 5 )
  • Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition (Steam / Microsoft Store )
  • Age of Empires IV (Steam / Microsoft Store / Xbox )

OBJECTIVES:

  • Routine server maintenance; no player-facing changes.

DETAILS:

This coming Tuesday October 7 , the platform team will be taking the multiplayer servers down for a backend fix needed after the last maintenance . Please note:

  • Online matchmaking will be disabled exactly one hour before the maintenance window to prevent disruption to newly-formed matches.
  • Any matches still in progress at the start of the maintenance window will be disrupted when the servers are taken offline.
  • DURING THE MAINTENANCE WINDOW, YOU WILL STILL BE ABLE TO LAUNCH THE GAME, BUT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MATCHMAKE OR ACCESS ANY ONLINE FEATURES.

To prevent any interruptions, we recommend wrapping up any games at least 10 minutes before the maintenance window. The downtime is expected to last between 1 and 2 hours . You can watch this thread for any changes to the schedule as they arise, as well as the all-clear when the maintenance is complete.

So, what’s the deal? When will we finally be able to play online on the PS5 again? How long do I have to wait? This problem has been going on for a few weeks now. I’d be happy if we could play it again in the next few days or if you released an update. Thank you very much.

I’ve already written to support, but they don’t know when it will be fixed. It can’t be that I can’t play online on the PS5 but others can, and how long will it take to fix it? The problem has existed since September 16th, so almost a month ago. I just saw a YouTube video of someone playing online on the PS5. Well, I hope for a quick fix, thanks.
