The “set gather point” cursor is a flag. In the original game, the pixel pointed by this cursor is the base of the flagpole. However in DE, the pixel that is pointed is the top of the flag pole. Many other cursors (e.g. repair) also got this change but they have a small white triangle at their top left corner which makes it intuitive of where they are pointing. The top of a flagpole is not at all intuitive nor indicative.
I suggest that a white triangle be added where the set gather point flag is pointing. Otherwise make it point at its base.
When setting a gather point (eg from a tc to ungarrison a villager onto a sheep/deer/boar) the hit box is no longer at the base of the flag pole. Instead for some unknown reason it has been changed to the top of the flag pole.
Reproduction Steps:
Select a building that can set a gather point. (any building that can garrison or create units)
Attempt to set that gather point flag onto a sheep/boar/deer/resource.
See where the weird hitbox is.
Notice how the sheep is not highlighted as if it is going to be selected. This behaviour mimics Userpatch/WK is supposed to behave only it does not have the highlight mechanic, but for all intents and purposes this is how gather points have worked for 20 years…
