Developers have stated AoE4 will continue facing players off in randomly created maps. I have no qualms with that, as it’s something that has always pleased players, and bring a unique flavor to the franchise.
However, I’d ALSO like to see set maps for those looking for familiarity, and perhaps, another layer of expertise when competing against others.
I’m sure we can all agree that some maps are better than others. This is due to many factors that include performance, preferred aesthetics, optimal layouts, asymmetry, perceived fairness, and strategy.
Having familiar spots to check for tower rushes, points of attack, flanks, would add a welcoming option for matches.
