:play_button: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

Player Color emissive material can only emit white and cannot be set to glow the player color. This has been fixed in AOMR.

:play_button: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Create a simple texture and a model that has material details with a channel for player color
  2. Apply a shader to that so it glows
  3. Observe player color can be applied
  4. Create a double emissive or textured model (an advanced material where you can define a different texture)
  5. Player color cannot be added to the channel because, for those materials, it isn’t defined

:play_button: EXPECTED RESULT

You should be able to set models to glow with the player color.

N/A modding issue

Update:
I should have consistently referred to emissive advanced materials instead of player color. Steps 1 and 2 above can be consolidated to apply glow to green channel, so the observation is that for simple materials both player colors and glow can be applied using the red and green channel
while with advc materials so you are defining with an emissive texture.

Green channel glow example:

There are two issues:

Issue 1: Advanced Emissive materials cannot glow in the player color
Instead, they glow in a fixed EmissiveColor (white)

  1. Create a unit with material using the default_emissive_cutout_advanced def and have and emissive texture for glowing parts
  2. Glow is the same for all player color as there is no player color definition

Issue 2: No double-sided emissive material

  1. Material that is both emissive (glow) and double sided simple doesn’t exist.
  2. As soon as you give a model that uses parts like, in this case, feathers, that needs to be visible from both sides, an emissive material, those parts simply disappear when seeing from most angles.
