Now that Cheriobalista is upgraded from archer-line upgrade, this upgrade benefits 3 units. Yet Cavalery line upgrade only effects the Contarius.
Should Turma, as an archer but cavalty as well, be upgraded from cavalry line upgrades instead of archer line?
This way there is also a nice logic that all units that counter/good vs the same type of unit are upgraded together, which is quite unique compared to other civilizations:
Katapeltes and murmillo- vs Cavalery
Arcus and Cheriobalista- vs infantry
Turma and Contarius- vs archer
Dystroyers and fanatics are the only wild cards that dont follow those rules exactly.
I don’t think it’s objectively better, just interesting and different approach to upgrading your units.

I agree. It even makes sense for the player that the cavalry upgrade upgrades the two units that are on top of a horse.
Also: remove Cheriobalista ‘siege’ tag. The siege upgrades don’t upgrade the Cheriobalista anymore, so why they have the tag now…?
The siege weapon lable only shows us this unit has less crush armor and takes bonus from villigers (as no unit does bonus ve siege anymore). It does seem a bit degenerate here, especially when no siege upgrade applies to them.
I do miss the way in og Chariobalistra was countered by different units than an archer while being in the archer’s spot, requiring different army composition from the enemy than usually.

And the question is, why should villagers do bonus damage to them and have less crush armor when by all ends and purposes they are not a siege anymore, just an archer…?
They need to choose, bring back siege upgrades and treat Cheriobalista as proper siege or turn it into a regular archer. (that’s what it appears they want)

Well, it does make them an archer that is more vulnerable to siege, which is a difference. Though I don’t know if more moee drawbacks is a thing this unit needs…
I agree that at this point it’s 99% just an archer, which is a shame.
