Should the older revolts be brought up to the new revolt standards?

The new revolts coming with this DLC, as well as the French Revolution are very loaded compared to the old, standard revolts. Poland in particular has the Duchy of Warsaw and the Hetmanate. These are very loaded compared to Hungary, Romania, SA Revolts, etc.

what could be added?

Romania

New units: Călăraș as a hussar replacement, Vânător as a skirm

Hungary

I’ve long suggested reworking this one to be 1848 revolt Hungary, with a second phase of the compromise of 1867, making it more like Austria-Hungary and making it German exclusive, replacing it with Greece

Canada

Mounties as a dragoon replacement?

South Africa

Could get Kommandos (Boers), Mounted Rifles, Uitlanders (special miner workers)

Barbary States

Yoldaş (Janissary replacement)

Haiti

These are just some ideas to create a springboard and bring these revolts up to par with the newer ones

In fact, all the older revolutions should be updated to ensure better balance between them; currently, some revolutions lack sufficient cards, whereas newer ones are packed with new units and Home City cards, resulting in a massive imbalance. I believe the solution is what I mentioned earlier: reworking and revising all the old revolutions to make them interesting again. Here is a list of the revolutions that should be reworked:

Hungary
Romania
Egypt
Barbary States
Indonesia
South Africa
Haiti
Canada
Mexico
All South American revolutions

New revolutions that should be added:

Greece
Belgium
Austria
Jacobites
Australia
Paraguay

Haiti changes:

Remove it as an option for the British - it just doesn’t make sense
Haiti should be representative of the post-French rule Haiti - currently it’s that plus 17th century Buccaneering Tortuga which is a an odd juxtaposition.

To tackle this:

• Remove all pirate references (Brethren of the Coast, Letter of Marque, warship improvement cards, and pirates themselves) - Privateers are fine as they’re pretty universal.

• Lean into the ambush, stealth, sabotage and raiding instead.

• Unit additions and changes: Cultivators (machete-wielding hand shock infantry - can gaather from all Food sources) , Chasè(skirms), Affranchis (Musketeer/line infantry - uses Machete as melee), Maroons (changed to a Militiaman type, with Stealth), Houngan (Voodoo Priest, armed with dagger), Saboteur (Spy replacement) - can Poison Sabotage (similar to Tsetse Sabotage ability - but for eco buildings - slowing workrate), Grenadye (reskinned Grenadiers - has ability *“Grenadye, alaso!” - melee charge), Hussars & Dragoons - no change except obvious rider model texture change.

• Add new, interesting shipments such as : The Faithful ones (Imperial-age uprades to Chase, Affranchis, Hussars & Dragoons - possibly a 'Faithful prefix for fun), Tire machèt (increases melee damage and RoF), Haitian Scorched-Earth (enables a detonation button on buildings that does an area-of-effect blast with a burning damage over time - also gives half of the resources used to contruct it back), Polish Mutineers (sends a shipment of Vistula Legionaries and Hussars), Guerilla warfare (Chasè, Houngan & Cultivators can stealth. Destroyed enemy buildings give resources back as a bounty), Haitian Arsonists (enables upgraded and reskinned Arsonist mercs the Tavern).

In lieu of Haiti, your British settlement can choose to go rogue:

I totally agree with Haiti. I would replace it with Ireland

Without a doubt, this way both Haiti’s relationship with France and the pirate states’ relationship with England would be better represented.

Replacing for who? (20 chars)

Russia, Ottomans and Malta (taking away Hungary and making it German exclusive to represent 1848 Hungary and Austria-Hungary as a 2 part revolt)

Yes, all old revolutions should be updated to the highest possible standard. (Currently, the level is that of Napoleonic France, the Mayans, and the German Confederation.)

If Spain got any new revolts (which it doesn’t need), I would only want to see either Cuba or the Philippines.
