Can you belive that ? Fastest unit with good attack, small unit size, cheap can dodge every projectile, even onager shots. 11 clown gaming.
Shirvamsha should lose the ability to dodge melee projectiles, siege & gunpowder.
What would be the point of that unit then?
The point? So you think the unit is fine as it is?
Its not fine but you cant take out its gimmick either.
Still super fast and gold light. Not to mention it would still dodge all arrows, which makes far more sense than the various melee projectiles.

I think dodging onager shots is one of the unit’s coolest abilities.
It’s totally broken, and really should be just arrows.

The devs run out of ideas of new units. Both Coustillier and Shirivamsha are bad design. What unit in history can block certain amount of projectile and it can recharge the ability overtime ?
You’ve deleted it again, but you called the charge mechanics trash, and claimed it was grounds to fire whoever designed them, which is both ridiculous, and toxic,
The recharge attack is symbolic of a cavalry unit performing a mounted charge, and the blocking projectile is meant to symbolize dodging enemy arrows.
There’s only so many variants of the same stats you can do before it gets boring. I for one am very happy with the kind of changes they are making, even if they aren’t always the right ones.
I know you are looking for problems online. You read all my posts and flagged everything on purpose instead of pointing out what is wrong and what you disagree with. Anyway I can say and delete whatever that is not against the rule.
I agree with that recharge attack is symbolic of a cavalry unit performing a mounted charge, however, why only Coustillier can use it but other cavalry cannot ? Cavalry charge attack is quite common on history and they are not all Burgundians. I don’t want to assume the developer’s purpose on this units but obviously it is not that positive.
Edit: Most likely the developers already discussed and made the decision on that cavalry don’t need the charge attack ability for some reason. Players also accepted it. Right now they added something that we denied long time ago to a single units. That’s funny.
Shrivamsha is the topic that I want to talk about the most. Sure, a fast light cavalry can dodge arrows, but it does not mean that they can 100% dodge all kind of projectile. I don’t understand why they need to recharge their dodge ability. It is a kind of magic to me and I don’t think it suits aoe2. In my opinion , it is better to introduce evasion as a new stats and apply it to every unit instead of copy paste monk’s ability.
Add to them the ignore armour thing
Devs could introduce charge mechanics to all Cavalry units’ in Dawn of the Dukes DLC (together with king of charge units, Coustillier) in exchange for moderate Cavalry stats decrease like Knight / Cavalier / Paladin has +11 / +14 / +17 charge attack 25s reload time, in return 90/100/130 hp 8/10/12 attack.
Spearman/Pikeman/Halberdier also have (counter) charge attack which is +16/+24/+32 vs Cav in first hit 10s reload time and current bonus attack vs Cav nerfed to +9/+14/+20 from current +15/+22/+32 attack.
Equalizer don’t know how you do ban evasion that long time…
