I just saw one of the hackers “demonstrate” it for me, he said it’s just an exe file that you run during a match. Used to be a paid service but there’s a free version floating around. Apparently it’s been around since launch, the creators update it after every patch. Works in all versions
It allows you to turn off fog of war, zoom out fully, see all the sheep/map layout instantly, everything your opponent is doing
Works in all multiplayer modes, ranked 1v1, QM, 2v2, 3v3 etc. Game breaking to say the least
I obviously won’t post the code/exe, but if a mod PM’s me I can link them, though I’m sure it’s likely already on the radar by now.
I heavily doubt maphack in this game would help a noob winning.
This game is heavily depends on macro, if one cannot manage the resources well enough, giving him all information doesn’t help, I would say even hurting him more because of the overwhelmed info on the screen that he cannot focus on.
Proper scouting > Maphack.
It is not like my opponent got an archery range, then I build a stable then I win, it never happens.
What?
Yes, proper scouting is good. With this map hack you are automatically scouting every single inch of the map every second of the game with zero investment of effort or apm, and the camera zooms out enough that you can essentially see it all at once. Proper scouting is not greater than a map hack, the map hack essentially replaces the need for active scouting altogether and makes you omniscient.
It doesn’t matter if a noob would still have trouble beating a non-noob using this, as they would never play eachother in QM or ranked anyway. Having what equates to perfect knowledge of what your opponent is doing/where they are, the map and sheep/resource locations from second zero of the game obviously gives the cheater an astronomical advantage in any non-placement match that realistically takes place on the ladder or QM.

I agree in some aspect it is an unfair advantage, but I would say it is neglectable.
Grab some more sheeps doesn’t win you a game.
I absolutely don’t agree with that. The fact that this kind of cheat does exist is unacceptable, no matter how skilled player gonna use it, this will ruin the multiplayer experience completely.

Apparently it’s being heavily abused in top of the ladder 2v2 games (multiple top 10 players confirmed using it), it’s pretty obvious how powerful it is. If you watch the replay from a player’s perspective you can see exactly when they activate it, the camera will zoom out like crazy (way more than a normal user can) and at the beginning they’ll be scrolling throughout the map while their scout plays connect the dots between the exact sheep locations. It gets even more obvious as the game goes on and they easily intercept monks/scholars, don’t actually use their scout and counter everything perfectly, but the excessive zoom is the definitive giveaway. Unsurprisingly the 2 top 10 people I looked into further who were using this also have accusations of using the drop hack as well.

@seansnogood please do DM me with details—the more we can know, the better. Thanks!

So you can see them zoom out in the replay?
Yes. If you switch from “Free Camera” to their perspective, once the game starts you can see them idle for a few seconds while they load up the exe, then you’ll see them adjust the zoom and zoom way out. You’ll still see the fog of war and the black parts of the map, but it’s all removed for them in game and they see everything.
The images of the TC below are from a cheater’s perspective before and after they load up the program, the ones with the scout are the difference between the max zoom allowed and the zoom that they’re playing with. It’s also not the camera effect you get when you scroll over a hill, the map is standard high view and it stays at that height and the other heights that you can see them adjust it to throughout the replay. The last is a picture of a hacker demonstrating it, I cropped out the program name.

LOL, this is pretty dumb that the hack is so obvious.
Period. It’s a matter of time that this hack will be undetectable. I have never been afraid of the game as I am now

I would guess that it could be virtually undetectable if they only use the “turn off fog of war” feature and don’t touch the zoom at all. The only way I’ve seen to 100% identify it is on replays when you see the ultra zoom out happen, usually followed by them scrolling to unexplored parts of the map to click on sheep they’re not supposed to be able to see yet. For some reason the observe/replay shows their zoom but not their switching the fog of war off.
Looks like it’s being used in the lower ranks as well, Aussie Drongo just posted a video of someone in bronze league using it

Thank you for keeping up with the reports y’all. I’ve bumped this one up above me. Appreciate all the information and continued diligence. Apologies you have to deal with unkind people. I can assure you there are changes being made.

Bro u are completely off with your opinion …
If u think only benefit is that you get 10 more sheeps than something is wrong between yours monitor and chair

To show example …
2v2
Rus player with bounty ± 1k cause he exactly knows where to get deers/wolves/extra sheep
Mongol player with exact knowledge where to put his first outpost (without counter-possibilty)
This happens in first 3 mins and from on its basicily gg
I would love to meet them on 2v2 ladder since I think we could beat them with my buddy even if they had all the info … its never gonna happen probably cause they are dodging us
Rus player with bounty ± 1k
I can achieve this fair and square in team games, with high trade house, note that even the cheater knows where they are, doesn’t mean they can stop opponents getting the hunt
Mongol towers
Same as proper scouting
Try playing with friends with 100% vision, it is actually harder tracking stuff because the fow actually only include area of map that require your attention, that why I would say bad players cheating doesn’t make them winning a lot.
its not overwhelming info, its just the needed info, so it gives you eficiency.
