Hi, I’m having an issue with Age of Empires IV where only my single-player matches fail to record any progress. After finishing a skirmish vs AI, I always see the “Retrieving…” screen, but nothing gets added to my match history. Because of this, I don’t receive XP and my daily/weekly challenges don’t update either.
Multiplayer matches work completely fine — XP, challenges, and match history all update normally. The problem occurs only in single-player games.
I’ve been experiencing this issue for about two weeks, and it started happening after the release of the newest DLC. My internet connection is stable, and I’m playing on Steam. I don’t use cheats or mods. Very rarely, a match does get recorded properly, but most of the time it doesn’t.

I play solo and daily achievement XP showing is intermittent. The civilization achievements don’t. They daily event goals show the checkmark as being complete but the bubble showing how many tasks for the day is over 40 now. That hasn’t worked since 11.4.2025. And I have also opened a ticked. I don’t want to even try to finish civ achievements because I am wasting my time.

The root cause isn’t solved, but here is a simple fix i found.
Instead of Single Player, go to Multiplayer → Custom → Create Game and make a Private lobby. Playing solo against AI here works just like Sinle Player, but it properly registers my progress. I could get XP and finish Daily challenges normally this way.
I still haven’t heard back from official support. I found this method just by messing around on my own - honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner. Anyway, doing this seems to solve my problem for now.
that worked pretty well for the daily challenges . Thanks for verifying that idea. I still need the civilization achievements to give me credit. I am slow getting all those done because it’s not my main focus. Perhaps they will fix it soon.
Just adding to the chorus, that I’ve been having this issue as well, ever since the latest expansion DLC. After every single player skirmish match the progression fails to load for the match and no dailies are completed. ‘Tis rather frustrating.
Same exact issue here - have submitted tickets and forum entries - received NOTHING back - seems the Devs just want to completely ignore the issue. THanks for the private lobby workaround. Nice work.
I’ve been waiting for a response to my ticket for 40 days now. It’s hard to tell if they’re even looking into it or just flat-out ignoring us. Anyway, I’m also sticking to the private lobby setup for now.
the same problem… i have contacted the support but they didn’t reply yet… for me it’s the only reason i play (daily/frequent) the game, hope they get the bug fixed, very dissapointed….
