Hi, I’m having an issue with Age of Empires IV where only my single-player matches fail to record any progress. After finishing a skirmish vs AI, I always see the “Retrieving…” screen, but nothing gets added to my match history. Because of this, I don’t receive XP and my daily/weekly challenges don’t update either.
Multiplayer matches work completely fine — XP, challenges, and match history all update normally. The problem occurs only in single-player games.
I’ve been experiencing this issue for about two weeks, and it started happening after the release of the newest DLC. My internet connection is stable, and I’m playing on Steam. I don’t use cheats or mods. Very rarely, a match does get recorded properly, but most of the time it doesn’t.

I play solo and daily achievement XP showing is intermittent. The civilization achievements don’t. They daily event goals show the checkmark as being complete but the bubble showing how many tasks for the day is over 40 now. That hasn’t worked since 11.4.2025. And I have also opened a ticked. I don’t want to even try to finish civ achievements because I am wasting my time.

The root cause isn’t solved, but here is a simple fix i found.
Instead of Single Player, go to Multiplayer → Custom → Create Game and make a Private lobby. Playing solo against AI here works just like Sinle Player, but it properly registers my progress. I could get XP and finish Daily challenges normally this way.
I still haven’t heard back from official support. I found this method just by messing around on my own - honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner. Anyway, doing this seems to solve my problem for now.
